Following our last Mercedes E-Class Coupe expose, we now show you the latest pictures of the car wearing a minimal amount of black tape and a contrasting body color. Remember, while the vehicle previously spied was black in color, only the trained eye was able to see really see the body details. Now all the lines are much clearer; it looks better the more we see.

Many of the current engine and transmission choices will still be found in the E-Class Cabrio, ranging from those 1.8-litre turbocharged petrols right up to a new 500bhp-plus AMG version. Diesels are optional as well. The car will be out on sale in spring 2009.

looks predictably good... maybe a bit too chunky for a coupe, but still very elegant and all.

Boring, dull, uninspiring, common, conservative, one of the same, nothing special, unexciting, soul-less.

A pretentious bore. A gross disappointment.

Unlike some other very worthy propositions by MB, this is nothing more than a total let down.

Remember, it's based on the C-Class, only called an E-Class. The 1.8L turbo in the C-Class is quite a good motor, with 200hp, nice low-end torque and good fuel economy. And in countries like Italy and Greece where you're taxed heavily above 2 litres, it makes sense to offer such an engine. Not everyone needs 500hp, or even 300. (In fact no one does.)

after seeing the SL/CLK black edition, the 'Black' is the only one I'm interested in. a ECC AMG 65 will doo too.

so let me get this straight. so there's an E-class coupe and a CLK coupe? And both of them are going to be available with a hardtop convertible?

the e-class coupe replaces the clk. clk and e-class coupe are "the same"

Not loving that bit of black plastic on the end of the side glass/C-pillar.

Agree. Especially not loving that they added an inch-thick rib along its leading edge. If the plug has to be there (to allow the quarter glass to be fully retractable), at least they could have minimized it. Gloss black would have blended in with the glass better too.

quite good looking, but doesn't compare to the bmw 3 series coupe for me; i prefer the lines of the bimmer.

very "lexus" looking. rear tail lights for example. lexus IS much? less in the front lights but still a little resemblance.

looks a little cheap? but very nice looking. nice cheap looking basically. not a compliment considering its a benz. lol

it just looks like a regular car, and mercedes isn't supposed to give that look of a regular car. my opinion.

They've done it again. A sure success which will continue the prestigeous reputation of the worlds oldest auotmaker

Although progressive in its design and not at all unattractive, this car resembles a saloon/sedan more so than a coupe...why not just add door handles and be done with the E-coupe all-together? Common, germans know how to engineer fine automobiles, but could use a fine lesson from Italian design i.e. pininfarina!

Good car but i think the rear end is a bit ruined , anyway , i bet it'll be a big success
