The advantage of carbon fiber is that you can have a lighter, less bulky seat with all the rigidity of blown plastic and foam types. my wife and i are looking for a less racy-looking carbon-fiber seat for our daughter's second seat for just this reason. have you seen the typical convertible car seat? this carbon-fiber seat doesn't really show off the advantages because it seems designed for show, but you can imagine the convenience.
