Yup, I agree. Nothing spectacular or special at all. The faux aluminium (ie shiny plastic mouldings)trimmings will look and feel cheap. I can't help but think this will suffer the same sad fate as the McLaren Mercedes SLR.

ok thats fugly...I am sorrry but it looks like an amiga front console....they need some tips from BMW and Fiat to make a retro interior....

The interior quality is questionable. All the items are parts-bin, so they will be up to Mercedes' more recent standards. The aluminum trimming can go either way. If its real, or simulated correctly, Mercedes will be stepping into the next realm of interior design. If its simulated poorly, Mercedes will regret the thought of "satin aluminum trim". I love the retro W123 air vents. Thats unexpected!

The modules in the interior are from different Mercedes products. You can see the climate module from the SUVs, the center infotainment controls from the new E and various switchgear from other models. Thats nothing unusual for Mercedes' niche products. The G-class inherits each generation C-classes switchgear. Its a good idea. Helps the money go where its needed, in the performance of the car! These parts will most definitely see production, and its a good thing. That couldn't be said in the recent past.

Don't expect a luxurious interior in this car. It should like the one in the 50s.

I'll be the first one to say that the new Mercedes, is not on the top of my list to drool over but I have to say that I disappointed with the "look" of the interior. It looks check and far to cluttered. I surly hope that this is just to lead the spys attention away from the rest of the car and hopefully change this later in the development.

The scan is from the german car magazine "Auto Bild". It doesn´t look like 50´s or any sort of retro (exept for the air vents). Its just a cheap plastic look in my eyes!

I like it, but then again, my tastes are a little different than those of most of you. I love the retro design, it looks like something that a '50s person could imagine as the future, and I love it. The quality of the materials NEVER, listen to me, NEVER looks good on spy shots (whether faux or not), so that's the least significant of my worries.

Iliked the SLR even if it was way over priced, uncomfortable for a daily drive, not meant for people over six feet tall, it is beautiful and rolling art. I have learned through the purchase of my SL63 that a picture is not always worth a thousand words and the car i have is incredible do not regret my purchase at all however it was the bashers here that had me concerned before I took delivery. So I will wait and see how this car turns out, It probably will be like the SLR and out of alot of our reaches

When it comes to design a sport car or super car mercedes will squeez all there brains to make it looks as perfect as the SLR. They want to revive the legendary SL300 gullwing and they do it perfectly.

Other than the air controls, light switch and sterring wheel, it looks like nothing like a Merc to me. more like a mustang.
