We've got some numbers to go with the shots Nissan recently provided of the 2009 370Z, set to debut at the Los Angels Auto Show later this month. According to the LA Auto Show's website, the redesigned Z's new DOHC 3.7 liter V6 boosts power by 26 horses over the outgoing model, to 332. A Variable Valve Event and Lift Control is part of the new drivetrain, as is a choice of seven-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmissions. The 370Z's new manual transmission also features synchronized downshift rev matching programming.
Public days for the Los Angeles Auto Show start November 21.

Just one look at it and you know that it is a Z.
It has an iconic image of its own...isn't that a sign of a well designed car?
However, imho, Nissan deserves credit at least for a new and original look with the lights. After five years of every car from Kia to Bentley copying those Toyota Altezza/Lexus IS taillights (which copied their own GS lights, which copied the silly ovals in the 1996 Mercedes E-Class), it's nice to see something without circles for taillamps and the same clustered headlamps as everyone else. (Mercedes CL and Scion tC, anyone?)
And at least this car pays homage to their iconinc 240Z without simply being a retro-xerox (Camaro, Challenger).
