Just in time for Christmas, here comes Porsche Design with new line of luxury jewelery for the holiday shopper with a generous spirit of giving.
Porsche Design has been around since 1972 and sports a range of men's accessories products including a Porsche fragrance line. This new Christmas 2008 "gift line" includes a series of sports watches which take their design cues from Porsche dash display panels.
There's also some men's 18 carat rose gold cufflinks. Have you ever worn cufflinks? What kind of people wear cufflinks? People with a lot of money wear cufflinks.
All luxury auto marques do this kind of thing. They sell top-of-the-line goods, right in their dealerships too, that carry their brand logo -- items like sports watches, handbags, mountain bikes even, all for pretty hefty prices, of course.
So if you can't afford a Porsche for, say, 100,000 euros, just drop about 5,000 or so on one of these watches. Hey, who's going to think you bought the watch but don't have the car? And until they find out you will be super cool.

A selection of classic men's accessories
"Golden Christmas" with Porsche Design
Stuttgart. To fit in with the Christmas celebrations, Porsche Design has added a golden accent and now presents gift ideas whose designs take the precious metal as their theme. The selection of classic men's accessories includes automatic watches, cufflinks and sunglasses. The products are available immediately from Porsche Design Stores.
Three chronographs from the Dashboard series and the Worldtimer P'6750 have been selected for Christmas. For the first time, two models from the Porsche Design Dashboard series feature a rose gold case with a rubber and titanium layered bezel. The elegant and classic rose gold contrasts with the sporty and modern design of the timepieces. The rose gold numbers and indices are featured in all three variants of dial and are partly displayed with superluminova. This also applies to the hands, which for the first time are pointed to make it possible to tell the time more precisely. The rose gold and sapphire glass black reveals the Porsche Design rotor system and the ETA 2894-2 automatic mechanism. The Worldtimer P'6750 with its unique world time mechanism is also available in gold. The simple change between time zone settings makes the Worldtimer the ideal gift for people who frequently travel between time zones.
From the men's jewelry collection come the 18 carat rose gold cufflinks, inlaid with fine onyx and crystals. They are striking with an understated and high quality appearance and are painstakingly polished by hand.
The P'8440 sunglasses in Light Gold Matt were designed with a definite nod to the "Exclusive Sunglasses" from 1978 - a true Porsche Design classic. The design of the lens attachments and bridge is a direct quote from the original. The stark lines and interchangeable shield ensure a contemporary look.
Porsche Design is a luxury brand with particular focus on technically inspired products. The brand was founded in 1972 by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, and since then its products have stood for functional, timeless and purist design. The product portfolio includes classic men's accessories, a sport and fashion collection as well as electronic products and a men's fragrance range. The products are designed in the Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See, Austria, and sold worldwide in own stores, shop-in-shops, high quality department stores and exclusive retail outlets.
