Porsche is wasting no time filling up its new Porsche AG Museum in Stuttgart with exhibitions. With interior work on the second floor completing today, twelve exhibitions are already on their way. By the end of this week, the relocation of all 80 exhibits to the new museum will have been completed.

The vehicles have been stored in an off-premises warehouse in Zwingenberg am Neckar until they are transported to the museum. The first exhibits on display include, among others, a 356 Cabriolet, an original ‘11' model and the first prototype of the 924.

"In the last few weeks, we have comprehensively restored all the vehicles and polished them up for their use in the museum," explains Klaus Bischof, head of the ‘Rolling Museum'.

In addition to the exhibition vehicles, the small exhibits and show cabinets have also already been set up. This means that work can be started on the lighting of the exhibition as the next step.

As virtually all museum vehicles are also used on the road and are thus continuously being replaced by other vehicles, the exhibition will constantly change its appearance. As a result, visitors will in future be able to discover different Porsche rarities in the new museum on a regular basis.

Will there be a family admission discount to view the "restored" Cayennes? Will the exhibit feature period mockups of grocery bags, school bookbags/sports equipment, and the family dog(s)?

a museum? great.

so in twenty years they can look back and still feel ashamed for what they did with the cayenne and panamera.

or will they be selling city cars and minivans by that time?

They're just making money. I won't care about their other models as long as they keep their sports cars in their range, and promote racing.

if selling cayennes and panameras keeps them in the business of selling 911s and boxters, we should be thrilled.

i was at the old museum 2 years ago, it was very small. they were in the process of building the new one which they informed me would be substantially bigger.

What a load of crap here. Porsche's history is unique in the automotive world. Nothing even comes close. I will definitely visit and be awed. I already like the old museum.

The Porsche 914 was and is an excellent design, only unsuccessful because of porsche vw family squabble/rivalry. The 914 if allowed to be developed, would have outperformed the 911 by far. Porsche always makes sure their cars are within their company heirarchy, similar to the way they have carefully packaged cayman performance so as not to out perform 911 series. Anyone who has ever driven a well prepared 914 knows this. First in class, sixth overall 24hrs.LeMans,is this a unsuccessful car? I think not. And,dont even start with the not a real Porsche stuff, the very first Porsches were engineered from VW parts, and they are among the most admired cars ever.
