Mercedes E-Class Coupe in Black Almost Free of Camo

AUTOMEDIA / Mercedes E-Class Coupe Spied in Black

These spy shots reveal the Mercedes E-Class Coupe almost fully undisguised.

Here's another series of spy shots on the coming E-Class. These are of the coupe version, which will be a very important model for Mercedes since they have discontinued the CLK badging and essentially turned the CLK into this E-Class Coupe.

German automakers are very reserved in their styling and prefer the concept of (very gradual) evolution rather than revolution in updating models. This shot reveals that philosophy in action. But the car does appear to have a greater curve along the horizontal length of the body and a more muscular hunch above the rear wheels.

The E-Class Coupe will likely come with, amongst Mercedes standard lineup of engines, Mercedes' latest 204 hp turbodiesel Bluetec, an AMG version with the 550 hp V8, and may also include the BlueHybrid that Mercedes is developing.

The new E-Class sedan will be introduced at the Geneva Motor Show next March. Other variants, including this coupe, will likely only be first unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show next September.

Pointles, looks like a CLS without 2 of the doors. Looks neither coupe like or saloon.

is everyone serious??? this looks so cheap... the rear lights look like they came off a lexus is... just fatten up with botox... and those front lights??? what styling cues are they taking that front???... i like this concept http://www.autospies.com/images/users/omarrana/2009_mercedes_benz_e_class_photo_leak.jpg

those lights are nice... they should work with something like that... damn... dunno though... we'll wait and see when its produced

wow, I cant wait to see the details. Mercedes definitely got the proportions and body lines correct. The styling seems less organic than the CL, but still exudes "premium superiority".

Well it certainly is a beautiful car but I am still confused of which date they will release this car and the one I am waiting for the convertible seems very far away which I think is sad because they will loose potential customers to the other competitions out there unfortunatly :-(

Nice car. I think it looks better at the rear side than the 4-door sedan.

I'm just confused. Wouldn't an E class coupe be more along the lines of the CLS, like the Volkswagen Passat and CLC? The E class is to conservative, and to dub a coupe after it would make the image of the coupe seem boring, or too conservative at the least. They should've stuck with 'CLK'. At least that name doesn't bring to mind an overly conservative sedan. This car looks way too sporty to be called simply an E class coupe.

RS5 +1 , this is too hot for a Benz to call it an E class

Yes please! As dolcegabbana said, it's a little too nice for an E class. I can't wait to get in a taxi in Germany again!

The rear lights are very similar to Lexus ES and IS that is absolutely bad for Merceds reputation but about front light there is a big INEQUITY about Mercedes designers. Since the first photoes from the prototypes of 2010 E-claas released many people say they just copy Lexus GS but in fact Lexus copied dual head lights from W210 E-class. The previous generation Lexus GS tried to copy from E-class W210. Mercedes designers just follow their new Design Language that defines sharp lines and angular forms so no imitation is intended at all.

Can't wait to see the finished product on the showroom floor. It's gonna be a winner. Why wait so long for the car though. Looking for to the E-Class sedan as well. Very nice lines
