Infiniti will be making its new G37 Covertible Premier Edition available only through Bloomingdale's months before the car makes it to dealerships across the US. The unusual marketing campaign will put just 199 Premium Editions up for purchase through the department store's holiday catalogs mail order system. Prospective buyers can try to place their orders the old fashioned way, by telephone, starting on November 10th.

This premium edition will come with a few special features, including 19-inch wheels, a snazzy grill, and a luxury interior called Monaco Red with leather-trim and hand-crafted wood.

The G37 will be officially launched at the LA Motor Show on November 19th. The G37 convertible will also be on display at 4 selected Bloomingdale stores across the US from December 10 to January 10.

The 2009 G37 Convertible comes with Nissan's new 3.7 liter, 330 hp V6. It will be available in US dealerships next spring.

Infiniti Offers Premier Edition 2009 Infiniti G Convertible Exclusively Through Bloomingdale's Holiday Catalog

Just in time for the holidays, Infiniti revealed today its plan to launch the Premier Edition of its all-new 2009 G Convertible exclusively through the 2008 Bloomingdale's holiday catalog. Bloomingdale's much anticipated annual holiday catalog begins to arrive in more than 700,000 homes across the U.S. on November 6, 2008. The book will feature an eight-page reveal of the Infiniti G Convertible and reservation program for the exclusive Premier Edition which boasts a unique Monaco Red leather-trimmed interior with hand-crafted, red-stained Maple Wood Trim, and a special grille and 19-inch aluminum wheels.

A first for both brands, neither Infiniti nor Bloomingdale's have promoted a vehicle through this medium before. A first-come, first-serve reservation process will allow 199 lucky consumers to be the exclusive owners of the Premier Edition. Dedicated phone lines will go live on November 10, 2008 at noon CST. After the reservation is taken, consumers then will be referred to a participating Infiniti retailer. The all-new 2009 Infiniti G Convertible is set to make its world debut at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 19.

"Infiniti is excited to expand our relationship with Bloomingdale's. Through the Bloomingdale's Holiday Catalog, we can offer an exclusive group of affluent, fashion-forward consumers the opportunity to order the new Premier Edition Infiniti G Convertible," says Ben Poore, vice president Infiniti marketing. "Bloomingdale's consumers will be among the very first to experience the liberating experience of this limited edition convertible."

From December 10 through January 10, four Bloomingdale's stores will feature the all-new Infiniti G Convertible, allowing the public to catch a glimpse of the vehicle before it goes on sale. These locations include Tysons Corner in McLean, VA, Lenox Square in Atlanta, GA, Mall of Millennia in Orlando, FL and South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA. Product specialists will be on hand to answer consumer questions.

"Our partnership with Infiniti has been great for our customers, and we are sure they will be drawn to the creative integration of the G Convertible in our Holiday catalog," says Frank Berman, senior vice president Bloomingdale's marketing. "The vehicle echoes the fashion, which echoes the vehicle again in a completely unified way. Fashion, style, performance and fun are all passions of Bloomingdale's customers, whether it's in their closet or in their driveways."

The all-new Infiniti G Convertible, the first-ever open-air version of the popular G, is set for a mid-2009 model year introduction and promises stunningly seductive styling and G-worthy dynamic performance. The new G Convertible will feature a three-piece automatic retracting hardtop to keep a coupe-like roofline, and its available Bose(R) Open Air Sound System audio and climate control systems have been enhanced to provide an inviting experience with the top up or down. The G Convertible will be powered by a 3.7-liter V6 producing 320-plus horsepower. It goes on sale at Infiniti retailers nationwide in spring 2009.
