Nice interior, the first one I like from Porsche, let's see the car.

That interior is huge! Now I need the 'Super-duper turbo' button, and the 'blow up the engine' button too.

The button-factory called, and they want all their buttons back! Ridiculous ergonomics..
I don't really get Porsche:
1. When updating the 911 or the Boxster/Cayman, there is seriously almost no visible change! (yeah, yeah the customers are all lining up as usual and they are all conservative to the max, but come on, live a little!)
2. Cayenne and Panamera are both (so far) fugly as hell, and utterly last decade in terms of energy usage, thus not "trendy" or "hip".
3. Now they are taking over VW and all included brands. Why not let Audi, VW, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Seat and Skoda (+Scania) make everything but the 911 and the Boxster/Cayman?
Stop messing around!

Looks like the interior of a Minivan...and there are too many buttons!

Oh my word :O
I don't think I have ever seen so many buttons on a center console before! I don't think the Americans would like that, it leaves no space for cup holders!

Wow... more buttons than a Merc. I like it, it makes it look like it can do alot, like its worth the insane price it will cost...

The ergonomics are very simple. You see the button you want and you push on it. Porsche makes everything straight to the point. You won't ever see sharp edges on a Porsche and although they offer luxury options, their primary focus is to sell what their brand represents: a sports car company. This is not to say that I love the interior. When I see the interior it just makes sense with what Porsche is about. They won't go about messing around with the iDrive system or anything technical like that. I do see the Audi inspired air conditioning vents.

How absolutely ridiculous! hunting for a button with your eyes off the road, asking for an accident! BMW got slated for inventing the idrive but all sensible auto makers use a similar version and this is exactly what it prevents! and the comment about representing a sports car company, err why make a 4x4 and a 4 door vehicle then?

The problem with iDrive is it takes much longer to get what you want done because you have to navigate through the menu. Also you can't do 2 things at once. I don't know maybe some people love the iDrive sys and other systems like it, but i prefer the oldschool buttons, i want to turn up the temp i push the little red arrow and hold it till the dial shows the temp i want, i want to lower the suspension i push a button not navigate through 50 windows, and buttons are much easier to familiarize urself with than navigating iDrive after one month you wont have to look down at the buttons anymore where with the iDrive there is no way you can memorize all the menus to do it without looking at the screen.

4x4 car that drives like a sports car. A 4 door sedan for the rich executives who desire something more than a sofa like feeling. I don't know?! My point is that there are a lot of reasons and your complaints do no justice to how great this car can be. And the dood above said it right. The iDrive system is an aberration. You think it's more simple but it makes you look at the screen longer than if you were to just push a button. Trust me, I had an iDrive on my previous 530i.

well, i dunno how technologically illiterate the rest of you are, but i had a 530d with idrive as a hire car - took me all of 24 hours of regular highway driving to make it instinctive. it takes less than 2 seconds to change a radio station without taking your eyes off the road once you get used to it. and that's ignoring the fact that you can get... i think every single bmw model with main controls on the steering wheel. i dunno, i think people just didn't like bangle's styling and so immediately find things not to like about modern bmws...

You can see this is designed for the American market, big, chunky design, lots of buttons.
Market-driven design, bleh :/

Gee, that is an awful lot of buttons. The climate control placement seems interesting. The verdict is still out on this one. I'll have to see and feel it for myself before I judge it.

Aesthetically speaking it's not bad. It's very unique and techy. In fact I like it. Ergonomically speaking... hmmm... it may be a little uncomfortable. Gosh, so much stuff!

I forgot to say how surprised I was with this interior because, with the exception of the Cayenne's, Porsche's interiors are the least creative and most boring that you get for over $40,000

I like it a lot. It's really original. Yeah, it seems to have a lot of buttons but at least they are nicely presented. Cool.

I kinda like the buttonapalooza. Reminds me of the original E-type Jaguar with its row of identical, poorly labeled toggle (and later rocker) switches. Too bad the chrome-ringed vents are so heavy-handed and that they went to the German Ministry of Ugly Steering Wheels for design help.
