Alfa Romeo is preparing to launch the new compact MiTo in the UK. In case you missed the car’s appearance at the British International Motor Show, Alfa dealers will begin receiving MiTo’s next month for display purposes ahead of the car’s official launch on January 24.

Drawing many design aspects from the beautiful 8C Competizione sports car, the MiTo plans to go head to head with key competitors in its highly competitive segment. Helping to give it the upper hand is a special electronic system called DNA, which adjusts the car’s performance depending on driving style and conditions.

Entry level MiTo’s equipped with a 1.4 liter 95 bhp engine will start at £10,975. For potential owners concerned about resale value, industry expects at CAP believe the Alfa MiTo 1.3 JTDM Veloce will retain 47% of its value after 3 years and 60,000 miles. UK orders will begin to be accepted on November 1, so if the MiTo appeals to the Alfa fan in you head to your local dealer.

ALFA MiTo HITS UK SHOWROOMS

Alfa Romeo’s new, compact and sporty Alfa MiTo is coming to a dealer near you.

From the beginning of next month, every Alfa Romeo dealer in the UK will be exhibiting static examples of the company’s brand new Alfa MiTo, a full two months before its official UK launch on 24 January 2009.

For thousands of Alfa MiTo fans and Alfisti, this is the first chance to see the car at close quarters since its world debut at this year’s British International Motor Show.

Whilst sharing styling cues with the Alfa 8C Competizione supercar, the Alfa MiTo is also equipped as standard with features and technology not previously available in this segment. These include a special electronic control system DNA (Dynamic, Normal, All Weather), which adjusts the response of the car depending on driving style and conditions, and LED rear lights.

Together with an eye-catching price of £10,975 for the entry level Alfa MiTo 1.4 16V 95BHP Turismo, comes news that industry experts, CAP, expect the Alfa MiTo 1.3 JTDM Veloce to retain a massive 47% of its value after three years and 60,000 miles – the second highest in its segment. So the new MiTo is set to appeal to heads as well as hearts.

Those drivers wanting to be first behind the wheel of the Alfa MiTo next year can place orders from 1 November and take advantage of very competitive financial offers available at their local Alfa Romeo dealerships.

the resale value like all alfas will be much worse than that. they need to wake up. alfas here in the uk have some of the worst satisfaction record for their dealer backup when things go wrong. criminal when you think that its supposedly an upmarket brand. the cheek of it!

While it will continue to split opinion, i am firmly in the "love it" category, having seen it in the flesh, so much so that i've put a deposit down. I would now love to have a proper butcher's without the excited public milling around, like the motor show. I don't believe it's a coincidence that the Alfa stand was the busiest at the show, or at least among the busiest; this car could make or break Alfa, and all the signs so far are that it will keep Alfa afloat and maybe even make them profitable, at least when they've finally got the 149 out.

Nice in black, not so nice in white. I'll judge it when I see one in the metal.

I saw the Mito in the flesh last week in Frankfurt at the 8C launch. It looked better in the flesh than it does in the pictures.

The choice of color will definitely change the look of the car... BUT I was a bit dissapointed at the build quality and the feel of the interior pieces...the plastics in the Civic feels better.

Buy this, put a heavy bodykit on it, then tell your mates you bought a Modifed 8C. Just don't open the hood though.
