The Skyline is available as a 4-door sedan and a 2-door coupe.
Its sold in the North America and some markets as the Infiniti G35/G37.
The new Nissan GT-R is a stand alone model. It is no longer part of the Nissan Skyline range.

I think he meant the first-generation Skyline GT-R, back in 1969. Yes, it was originally available only as a 4-door sedan. The current GT-R is the first one that is not based upon an existing sedan platform.

agree it would be great rival, but these last doors are like 50cm wide and completely useless! hope that's just a bad rendered photo :)

Are you serious? This looks like a Nissan from a mile away. It's not a bad looking car but in no way shape or form does exude a sense of high quality or style. By the way, Porsche hasn't even revealed the Panamera yet.

What does it matter if it looks like a nissan? Thats not a bad thing. Look at the infinity G37 or nissan z or infinity M or nissan maxima or nissan altima. All great looking cars. And every one of those cars is faster than a 3 series (except for the $50k 335)and less expensive. Nissan's more expensive line up rivals german cars. Putting a badge on a car and calling it a porsche doesnt mean they did a good job. Enginuity its probably good but then it comes to styling, porsche did ok on the front but the person who did the rear was feeling under the weather and vomited on the rear. Ths car flows together and you can bearly tell that its a 4 door.

I imagine the Panamera will have a design change with the next model. Remember how ugly the Cayenne used to be (I like the new one by the way)?

Yeah see here is the problem, some sources have reported that it will have the 5.0 V8 from the FX50.

..hell no..they can do it to other cars..but not for GTR..nissan had tried it for the r34..and failed..GTR is suppose to be a super coupe, not some family super sedan..

Looks cool this way, but I know it will be sold with an Infiniti logo and probably it will get the Infiniti design language to, just wait and see, and yeah u guys have the right to ur own opinion, but stop being posers, ok? u say it will be ruined or it's ugly, just kuz u don't have anything better to say, but i'm sure all of u will want to drive one of this, so chill, u all "mighty" critics

it looks good...HOWEVER. what the GTR has builded up so far will be lost with this sedan... it will NOT have the same performance as the two door. if it does, then i'll be damned hahahha

its already heavy as it is, and it does things physics can't explain... now it'll be heavier with more seats, speakers, two extra doors... blah blah... i dunno haha, definitely won't be breaking any nurburgring lap records lol orrrrr maybe it will!!!... fastest 4 door production saloon :D

I'd wait until when Nissan reveal the specs especially for weight because this is something that they're quite deliberated about it for sure.
It's hard to predict outcome of horsepower, weight and torque for drivability, accelaration and stability as no one could to normal GT-R.

Only problem is that u'd have to stick midgets in the back to ever use those seats. There is a reason the panamera has a high roofline in the back, people tend to be more than 4ft tall.

In the 2 door version people already hav enough room. I dont think they will hav a problem in the 4door unless you are taller than 6 foot, where most cars have trouble anyway.

Ok , here's an ideea about this sedan, and i know a lil' bit more about that, but if i tell u will have to kill u so I keep my month shut 4 now, oh and don't mind the convertible GT-R there, it's just photoshop

Ok there is no need for a sedan GT-R same as there was no need for sedan or SUV from porcshe, but it was created so maybe this is the competition for less money.

Oh jUST shut up , i was not even talking to ya' ,and i'm just telling my opinion, Range rover it's european and i said it looks great, the same for aston, lambo, and many other cars, but i think a GT-R based sedan will beat M5 4 good, and the french cars, are kinnda cute, u know what i'm talkin about, citroen , and the other one, peugeot it's a nice car 4 a lady

Nissan needs an upscale sedan with supercar performence. It needs GT-R platform, with Infiniti's sensuous design, and luxury, along with the new 5 liter V8 found in the FX... U got urself a head to head with the Panamera.

Provided you can comfortably seat two adults in the rear seats, I love it!
If it is the case that you can barely fit in a baby seat or a small child, then this car is pointless. I'd like to see Nissan pull this off, and well at that.

For those of you wishing for the powertrain of the GT-R, have any of you read the long term testing done so far by edmunds.com. They bought their own GT-R to test it for a year and what a nightmare it has been so far, a total of 13 days spent in the repair shop. Can anyone say "LEMON?!" Read it here

I read something similar in Japanese blogs about the horrors of the running cost of the new GTR.
Time will tell if the Porsche is actually a better long-term option...for those who like to keep their cars that is...
