Following up from yesterday's MINI Cooper S Convertible in red spy photos, here are the latest shots of a white Cooper S convertible with a fine looking brown top. With the world debut expected at Detroit in January, the new convertible will feature a new “multi-functional” fabric top which will open partially for that sun roof effect as well as the conventional 3-in-1 fully-folded solution. Another new feature are the submerged chrome rollover bars behind the rear seat headrests which eject with terrific speed if the SRS control unit senses excessive pitch or roll beyond set parameters. In the previous generation, the rolls bars were fixed upright affecting visibility and creating wind noise. The 2009 MINI Cooper convertible is expected to start production in March 2009.

What's the hype and the mystery??? all Mini's will have the same look. As a matter of fact, it doesn't look that much different from the current one anyway. I'm not going to say whenthe new car comes out: Wow, look at that chrome strip around the tail light, it's thicker than before. Wow, that mini badge on the bonnet has increased 1mm in diameter. This car is so much better than the old one. PLEASE SPARE THE EFFORT ON THE TAPES. IT'S POINTLESS AND IRRITATING.
