I'm trying to understand, really trying to comprehend just why the driver must be the stupidest man "EVER"?

Stupid? So I guess every body who ever tested a prototype airplane is stupid too. Calling the driver "Stupid" is just uncalled for

gmfan09, in air plane there are Parashots, many safety stuff, but in this, there is only a HUGE engine , a steering wheel(which probably useless) and a driver.
if something goes wrong in the plane u have enough time to get out of it safely, in this if something happens u wont even have time to wander something is going on.

Yes, "stupid" is a comment like that. These guys have adventure and courage -- not to be knocked.

It appears the jet engine would need to produce a tremendous amount of force to even equal the amount of drag it produces at that speed.
Maybe the jet is used to help it get to 400mph, then the rocket and engine compensate it's drag. I'd research shutting the jet off at speed and using it as a spoiler for downforce.
