The National Geographic channel has produced a feature documentary that covers the iconic Nissan R35 GT-R supercar from it's Skyline roots up through the early stages of development to its world debut at the Tokyo International Motor Show. The documentary also follows Carlos Ghosn, Renault/Nissan President and CEO, in his involvement with the project, video game culture, intro to the International press, Nurburgring record lap time and the Porsche 911 Turbo as its benchmark competitor.

Warning: the 47 minute long program is difficult to stop watching once you've started. Enjoy!

Audi R8 is as every bit as perfect as the 911 Turbo and GT-R is rubbish.

your comment was as retarded as the GT-R, 911 Turbo and R8 are perfect.

yeah cos youve driven ALL three right? read what the experts say. the GTR is a better car than the two you mentioned. at least be gracious in defeat.

lets be honest here, this is all a matter of opinion. "better" is a very subjective term, i don't think that(asif) could be considered a fact, more like an opinion. it might have a better ring time but when you spending 90-150K on a car most people consider more then a lap time. It's about driving characteristics, style, prestige, personal preference, its all a matter of opinion. I love the GTR and the Audi in person is stunning, I'd take either in a heart beat, but with my own money I personal would buy a Porsche i love them always have and i wouldn't care if a GTR is a little faster.

I totaly agree with you on what you said. I been in love with the GTR ever since the R32 came out and even day I a huge fan of the R8. Now if I drive the GTR on the Ring and say Schumacher drives the Ring, there's going to be a diffrence in Time. It all depends on what kind of driver you are and how much knowledge you have of the car to drive it to the llimit. Of course Nissan will know how to drive it cause they designed it to the specs they wanted. So is the GTR better than the porsche, maybe. but who cares really. In a couple of months, there will be a new car that will do the ring in less time than the GTr and be the new king. And no matter what you drive, lamborghini, ferrari or even stryker, you'll never get to drive it fast enough on the streets, it's all about presitge. Nothing more nothing less.

I'm with u guys 100%...it just all depends on what u look for in a car...personally I would take any of these cars as well, but not as my ONLY car...I don't think I could ever be content with AWD and/or no third pedal. Each car has its strenths as well as its aspects that make it undesirable, in the end it really just comes down to the individual. RWD and a proper manual would be my preference...(insert fitting car of choice here)

U r correct, GT-R is for nerdish and immature, Porsche is old-fashioned and risky, and the R8 is for someone looking for perfection, balance, delicacy, poised. So as u said it all about taste.

I will put it up where it does not disappear again and see if I can also set it up where the hi-resolution file can be downloaded.

I did record it when it was on. It will be Saturday before I get the chance to format the file and set it up. But I will post it as soon as I get it ready on Saturday at: http://www.IncomeMentor.com/NatGeo-GT-R.htm

I've been following the GTR since , the first Granturismo game? haha and never stopped following it's tuning trends and aftermarket parts since then. I think porsche and GTR are 2 very different approaches to going fast. Some people say the styling is ugly, but I tend to think that it's a good reflection of japanese culture and their cityscapes, very linear, clean but yet aggressive.
