Despite the upcoming facelift to the GL-Class being a soft facelift with only minor alterations to the front and rear bumper fascias and tailamps, we know a lot of development work still goes into these prototypes. Our oldest coverage of the GL-Class facelift goes back to August 2007, and still we know Mercedes puts a significant amount of design and preparation going back even further.
So, the big question – is it worth it? For us enthusiasts, it takes a lot to impress us, so these minor upgrades seem insignificant. But to the regular consumer that doesn't check the WCF front page every 15 minutes, perhaps it's appealing - although we have our doubts given the current economic climate of the world today in addition to a mass exodus from such large vehicles in the midst of global warming concerns. Hopefully, the GL 320 Bluetec can compensate?
