Rolls Royce's new Phantom Coupe is now available to buyers in the Middle East market.

The latest jewel of Rolls-Royce’s lineup, the Phantom Coupe, has made its official Middle Eastern debut, with an event in Abu Dhabi kicking off the first deliveries to customers in the region. The new two-door hardtop features the same unmistakable styling as the convertible version, and includes an available fiber-optic headliner that simulates a starry sky.

The familiar, upright styling of the Phantom has been subtly trimmed for the two-door version, for just a hint of athleticism. The Phantom Coupe’s distinctive rear-hinged “coach” doors open onto a five-passenger cabin that’s outfitted to Rolls-Royce’s exacting standard. The Phantom Coupe is also the first Rolls-Royce to offer a measure of driving excitement; the 453-bhp 6.75 liter V12 engine that motivates this big car is matched to a lightweight aluminum chassis. Extended fuel capacity and a relatively efficient direct-injection powerplant give the Phantom Coupe an impressive driving range. Rolls-Royce says the car is the most driver-oriented vehicle in its four-car lineup.

The unique starlight headliner, an optional item, uses over 1600 fiber-optic lights to create the outdoor effect. The Phantom Coupe also shares the split tailgate/trunk that Rolls-Royce calls a “picnic boot” and available brushed-aluminum hood trim with the Drophead Coupe.

NEW ROLLS-ROYCE COUPÉ DEBUTS IN THE MIDDLE EAST

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has unveiled the latest addition to the Phantom family, the Phantom Coupé, for the first time in the Middle East. Stylish and agile, the Coupé is the most driver-orientated car in the current range.

Materials used in the Phantom Coupé have been carefully selected to fuse form with function. The design and engineering team married cutting-edge technology with a stylish, muscular body, to form a car which is noticeably more dynamic, whilst still offering incredible comfort.

“Outstanding engineering, drivability and exclusivity are fundamentals to every Rolls-Royce car”, said Peter Schoppmann, Regional Director for the Middle East, at the official Middle East premiere in Abu Dhabi and continued “The Coupé has been designed and engineered to be the most dynamic interpretation of our values.”

At the core of the Phantom Coupé is an advanced aluminium chassis. Lightweight and exceptionally strong, it impacts positively on ride comfort, handling and safety. Designed to cover great distances effortlessly, the Coupé’s power is provided by the 6.75-litre V12 that produces 453 bhp, 720 Nm of torque and has segment-leading fuel economy.

The interior can be illuminated by an optional starlight headliner, more than 1,600 fibre-optics give the impression of a star-filled night sky.

The Phantom Coupe is a Rolls-Royce for a true driving enthusiast and a sublime choice for a transcontinental trip. The Coupé’s pace, performance and style guarantees both passenger and driver will emerge fresh and at ease – even after a full day of driving.

With the four-door Phantom, the Extended Wheelbase model, the convertible Phantom Drophead Coupé and the new Phantom Coupé the model line-up of Rolls-Royce consists of four models. Rolls-Royce has shown impressive growth in 2008, with strong demand for Phantom four-door coupled with significant interest in the Phantom Drophead Coupé following its Middle East launch in September 2007.

The first Coupés are being handed over these days to customers throughout the region.

Even if I had the money to buy one of these, I would feel too guilty to drive it or be driven. I would feel like I was be depleting the earth and that too much was sacrificed just so I could feel comfort. like i was stealing.

its the compassion one (but not really) lol. Its like a waste. I live in california I see these around the LA area and near the beaches (the expensive ones) all the time.

It looks a bit weird, not much but slightly. As if it was a drophead, with a optional hardtop. Cheap engineering isnt like RR at all.

I live in Finland, the country where alla cars cost atleast twice as much as in Germany. Here a veyron would cost 2 million ?, and a Maybach costs 750 000?. The cheapest Golf costs about 30 000?. But if u look closely at the second pic you can see that the roof looks abit like it was a Hardtop roof on a cabriolet.

the side windows are way to shallow compared to the windscreen, that makes it look like a hardtop version of th droptop love the grey paint or is it green? - need to calibrate my montor..

It's a Rolls Royce; firstly the starlight thing is just an option; secondly, if it's not an option already, Rolls Royce would go as far as to make a glass roof for your phantom coupe.
