Another round of spy shots of BMW’s Progressive Activity Sedan (PAS) has surfaced, revealing what appear to be production-ready front and rear light treatments under disguise. The car, which is expected to be a five-door fastback sized between the 5-Series and 7-Series that will debut as a 2010 model, has not yet been officially unveiled. It’s expected to be the first of a possible new range of BMW products, the V-Series.
The PAS--or is it the V5?--will sport “coupe-sedan” styling similar to that of the X6, with a more road-going stance. It’s expected to be a four-seater, also in the same vein as the X6, powered by BMW’s 3.0 liter straight-six in gasoline and diesel permutations. A more powerful 4.0 liter diesel V8 may be offered, and BMW has not ruled out the possibility of a hybrid version.
Underneath the camouflage in these photos, the final hood lines can be discerned, and the dramatically sloped rear glass will give this car a unique profile on the road.

this is gonna be far bigger, lot more luxurious, that sort of things... i just wonder what this car is about - a pointless car in my opinion.

.. indeed just *another* pointless car from BMW. those guys just want to sell. it's really a big shame, BMW is really losing it's aura with cars like these.. and the rear of this thing makes me think of a Ford Focus..

Cancelling the M3 CSL in favour for a "M" version X5/X6 is a clear signal they are going down! I think the latest cars from BMW are a clear sign of that :( Too bad, I used to have the upmost respect for all BMWs, now I only have that for SOME BMWs :(

No its a new version of the X6 but with a different name, and its gonna be produced side by side with the X6.. now i really dont get the point of this car. a bit like the Mini One.. same as the Cooper but different name.

BMW must have alot of money laying around if they keep developing overlapping cars like these...so this must be for people that don't want a sedan or a SUV or a wagon... So it's another cop-out car like the new Subaru Imprezza 5door hatch back...but only bigger and more upscale...

this is a hatchback BMW thats all it is a 5 series hatchback!! a practical car, thats all but bmw wont allow them selves to make a run of the mill car like a hatchback so they make up a BS name like PAS

Is this going to be yet another stupid 4 wheel drive that doesnt look like an SUV and cant go off road, so just has 4 wheel drive to burn up our oil supplies a bit quicker. Stupid pointless crossover fashion, at least they don't sell well because most people are clever enough to see through this.
