I'm sure there is still place on the market for an X4 which will be 2mm longer than X3 and 2mm shorter than X5, same with X2, so everyone can spend half of his life at the dealership trying to choose one of the almost identical SUVs.

i wanna tell you that all carbrands have to many suv : mercedes :4 kind of suv ....dodge ,chevrolet ,Audi,mitsubishi,nissan etc...now Bmw is joining them so what's the problem with doing this and why do you think this step is'nt good for bmw

The X1 is the car with the larger air intake at the front, the X3 has a smaller air intake. Whatever BMW have tried to do with the looks though, htey are both going to be hideously ugly.

There is no point producing cars that compete against each other, they wont gain any sales, why isnt one of them the sporty alternative like an X6, that would make sense.

That's ugly. This is ugly. I'm ugly. You're ugle. WTF? Get over it. A lot of people sure seem to love reading about new BMW's just so they can say how ugly they are. Get a life. Go look at Mercs and Audis if you don't like them. How can you even judge with all the pychadelic tape on it anyway? And sales of "SUVs" are NOT down. Sales of cars that get crappy gas mileage are down. Hence all of the new smaller SUVs (X1 and X3) being developed. Some of us have families and tons of crap to carry around. Unfortunately we can't all drive Z4's and 3er coupes.
