Nissan Offers Tires & Another Video Against 'Ring Time Accusations

Much to the delight of Dunlop, the drama continues as Nissan offers up circumstantial evidence with the actual standard tires used in their record setting Nurburgring run earlier this year in addition to a second video. After 'Ring testing their own GT-R purchased from the U.S., Porsche accused the Japanese auto maker of perpetrating fraud by using non-standard, semi-slick tires when it was unable to come close to Nissan's lap time. Late last week Nissan responded in a statement that cheekily recommended following proper break-in procedures and offered to give all prospective GT-R owners as well as auto manufacturers GT-R driving lessons.
Nissan's showing of the tires is a defiant gesture but still proves very little. However, the video shows the 50kg test equipment, although not in the car, further putting the GT-R at an additional handicap. Nonetheless, the video which includes some Japanese language dialog runs 12 minutes with the full record run footage starting at 4 minutes.
Surely, we haven't heard the last of this dispute. Hopefully, it will end up in an independently monitored battle royale between Porsche and Nissan in the 'Ring.

here's the prove
now, I am quite a Porsche fan and I do think and accept that the GT-R is (or could be) faster than the 911 Turbo - and I also think that Porsche's attempt to put Nissan's claims in doubt is ..at least "clumsy", but I also think that Nissan are taking this too far with their sarcasm. even if they have a faster car (and if they do, why not accept a shootout ?), they mustn't forget Porsche's history, pedigree and racing heritage - that they are quite far from equalling.
and in the end, it's a question of philosophy: Nissan wanted to make a car that was easy to drive and help even a (very) clumsy driver get the most out of it. Porsche's philosophy is to make driving fun and rewarding.. just do a lap of any track in both cars and then see which one makes you feel better about your skills..
To Porsche: Your weakness is showing. You have fear from the GTR. Stop complaining and make better cars. Your gonna loose sales if you moan like this.
Simply put... The battle is on. Like LMS said, this is definitely a job for Stiggy.
well now that that's out...
please have a RACE on the ring... for real... broadcasted live on TV. LEGIT.
BMW have the new M-DCT paddleshift system that they put in the new M3, it's suppose to be able to handle over 500hp and 400lbs of torque...however...the new M3 only have 300lbs of torque... but the shifting is very good
