A friend of mine has a Santa Fe. He apparently has received horrible customer service, has had mechanical problems, and has vowed to sell his Hyundai as soon as possible. Just a warning. He lives in Bergen County, New Jersey.

I have been very satisfied with my Hyundai 2001 Santa Fe bought as a program car with 10,000 miles in 2002. I currently have 108,000 miles on it and have enjoyed consistent 25-28 mpg fuel economy (2wd) and only had it back to the dealer once for a fuel gauge sender replacement (handled promptly). I was looking at the Ford Escape hybrid, but may wait to see what Hyundai's hybrid looks like. A satisfied repeat customer.
