Lamborghini Estoque Concept

Following a tantalizing series of teaser images, the Lamborghini Estoque four door concept is finally revealed. Although the images leaked by AutoJournal.fr are low-resolution, we can still see all of the details from numerous angles.

Measuring 5.15 meters long, the unique Estoque, which we dare call a sedan, carries a front end in familiar Lamborghini style with gaping diamond shaped air intake scoops linked by a lower spoiler. The aggressive design caries through into the hood with its v-shaped noise and sharply cut side vents. Under the hood we are likely to find the 560 hp V10 from the Gallardo LP 560-4, and of course with all-wheel-drive.

Although the Estoque is presented in concept form, AutoJournal.fr indicates that a production version is planned to arrive as early as 2010. With the support of parent company, VW Group, variants of the Estoque could include a supercharged V8, a hybrid and even a top-range diesel engine – most likely the V12 TDI from the Audi Q7.

The Estoque makes its official appearance this evening in Paris. Stay tuned as we will update all new informations and images as they become available.

Original for Lambo....the details were great, put them together and well you have a just a four door, nothing truely special. Except it still looks better than the 4 door porsche.

The Front is what kills me the most..........They couldn't break away

Exacrtly how I would expect a Lamborghini saloon to look. Has hints of many other cars, including the new Dodge Charger (or it it Challenger?).

Where do they propose you put a forward facing licence plate?

Nothing special, Looks good but it's not enough to call it a lambo or an angel.

i wonder whats under that body :P **cough** audi A8 L much** :P!!! dunno... but it looks alright... not amazing

October 1, 2008 6:08 PM
Carcrazy, this car isn't mid engined... It has the engine from the Gallardo, which Audi has kept separate design wise from the R8's future V10 model. And lambo has always run its own awd systems and have never made a quattro drive train. Saying it is an R8 is about as close as saying that Porsche controls VW which has connections to Audi so therefore this Lambo must be a porsche panamera frame! Its just plain incorrect and ignorant.

Kaamraan
October 1, 2008 9:50 PM
Dude- you complaining about his ignorance and you missed the fact that he said "A8 L". You know- LWB A8? Like an A8 Limo thing? With its engine in front? Yeah that one.

October 1, 2008 3:43 PM
I think it looks really Lamborghini-ish, especially the front. I´m not sure about the design after the 2nd door but I think we should wait until we see live pictures of the car. SO far I´m not really amazed...

It looks good, but i dont think it would have a diesel in a lamborghini, but i wouldnt mind the hybrid...

October 1, 2008 3:47 PM
OH MY GOD, Lamborghini what have you done. Are you trying to ruin your name. I'm sorry but this has got to be the mistake of the century. Unless this is a joke on the auto industry, good one, but if not, it's a really dissapointed.

having said that, this is 10x better than the Porsche. AM Rapide still reigns

munch997
October 1, 2008 3:48 PM
that design on a 2-door folding roof like the ferrari california would look really good, as it is though, looks good. thought the front would look something like that, the sode will take time to get used to i think....

October 1, 2008 3:51 PM
between all 4door coupes maserati quatroporte is the best , cls rocket is the fastest , Volkswagen cc is the cheapest , Porsche panamera is the ugliest , and the Aston martin rapid is the best fastest prettiest and the most expensive 4door coupe that ever made. And this lambo has nothing special to enter in this list. :))

October 1, 2008 3:55 PM
Yeah, AM Rapide rulez! :D

carcrazy1234
October 2, 2008 1:22 AM
i must agree with most or all of that lol i LOVE the CLS... beautiful in almost every proportion... except looking at it RIGHT from the front hahah. aston martins 4 door attempt is the nicest looking, but see they have easy designs to work with which almost everyone loves haha nothing really to change. porsche.... biggest fail yet (from all the pictures ive seen... don't think it'll be any better)..... annnnnnnnd this lambo, i looked at the side view pic, and i like it from the side haha dunno why, but those rear wheels are HUGE lol

The_woo_factor
October 2, 2008 2:14 PM
I TOTALLY AGREE WITH ALL THAT U HAVE SAID.... I still like the Merc CLS and AM rapide. Porsche...too ugly.

Quatroporte is ugly imo, not even close to the CLS.

eddie
October 1, 2008 3:56 PM
It looks awesome as a 2+2. It would be a daily driver. I am sure with the Audi group backing(Porsche, Bentely, Bugatti) it will be sensational. No other car company has finer R and D behind it. This is way better than the Panamera or the Rapide!

lcat2004
October 1, 2008 4:05 PM
Is this some kind of a joke? This 'car' looks hidious. Why a four door? So the Lam becomes a family car? So kids can ride in this car? Kids have no business in a Lam. Do yourself a favour and cancel this thing before it hits the streets.

I agree completely. It's really horrid.

October 1, 2008 5:43 PM
Oh My Word!! At 5,15 m in length; It's almost as long as an S-Class LONG WHEEL BASE which stands at 5,20 m. Titantic here we come. A ship of note !!! - I don't think it's gonna be a huge success story for Lambo. It's just not there thing!! I say stick to what works. Superfast, Super cool, head turning sportscar monsters !! Now Batman can take cat woman and the kids for a night out on the town !!

October 1, 2008 6:23 PM
Lamborghini makes a "4-door-coupé" what should better called sportssedan. It's great, that Aston Martin, Porsche and at least the italian manufacture fill this hole. A Passat CC or a CLS might be great, but not like that, what is talking about here. The only real sportssedan existing before was the very sedan-ish Maserati Quattroporte. Compliment to the design. Lamborghini designed a wounderful Car. it's absolutely identible with the current models!

DeRay
October 1, 2008 6:24 PM
My question is WHY. Most of the people who can afford a lambo only want to ride with a hot chick in the passenger seat who needs 4doors from a lambo. Like what rich person out there is complaining "why don't they make a sedan" stick to the script lambo you don't need to step in the 4door arena.

October 1, 2008 6:48 PM
I think it's awesome, full of agression and menace, the Panamera is dead in the water, the 7 series too, when this comes out, only the Quattroporte and Rapide can rival it

October 1, 2008 9:43 PM
the quattroporte isnt really selling that well but the rapide might be hard to beat

Xanavi, you say physics makes the GTR time impossible. I say physics makes the GTR time possible. The GTR has a lower center of gravity, this produces less roll and thus has less weight transfer in corners and that in turn leads to increased cornering capacity. While extra weight does mean there is more mass to move around, it also helps counter itself by providing a bit more downforce over the wheels. So having 190kg of weight difference really isn't that substantial. The torque/power chart posted shows that this car also produces more torque across a wider rev range. The moment of inertia and weight distribution of the 2 cars also favors the GTR, more even weight distribution simply means more grip, moment of inertia means the car won't drive like a hammer. The awd system found in Porsches is not the quattro system found in Audi's, I honestly can't say anything good or bad against the one used in the 911, all I can say is that it is different from Audi's and my guess is less advanced then the one used by the GTR. That's my analysis of the physics and the GTR times still seem plausible. Especially when driver skill alone can shave off tremendous amounts of time. I'd say take both cars for a test drive and see which one you like more before buying, if you wanna be in the Porsche club, you will probably buy the 911, if you want the latest "cheap" Japanese supercar, get the GTR.

October 1, 2008 9:14 PM
Looks very good for me... Way better than Panamera, good enough to compete vs Rapide and it still has a Lambo look.. And a four door super sedan means a family car? I don´t so sure about it...

Looks like a vette from the front, a benz cls from the side and a dodge charger from the back. NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!!!

it has 4-door, terribly disappointing odd looking and a diesel engine. Isnt it lamborghini, is it? What a shame!

It looks sort of like a 360 Modena/Gallardo hybrid that's had an Aston Martin Lagonda crashed into the back of it.

I think it is a good design overall. For those who say 'WHY!?' the answer is simple - keeping up with times. When Porsche made their ugly Cayenne, it was because a poll of existing Porsche owners, they found one thing: They all had SUV from Merc or Rover or other brands. So they decided to address the problem with the Cayenne. Though I think the Cayenne is ugly, it has given them cash to develop, well... another ugly car, the Panamera. That said, when the CLS launched it was akin to days gone by when coach-building allowed each car to be tailored, styled, and engineered practically just for you. Once again we have a revival of the idea that all the speed in the world is great, but wouldn't it be better if you could share it with friends, plural AND have room for luggage. So here we are, at the apex of the curve that leads us away from the SUV craze to a new era of super sedans. That, IMO is why we are seeing this diversity from once limited stables like Porsche and Lamborghini. IMO this is all a good think, with the exception of the soon to be revealed Panamera - that just looks like a 911 knock off. I hope we are all pleasantly surprised by that one. Peace!

October 1, 2008 10:51 PM
I don't see what all the hype was now. Aesthetically speaking, it doesn't agree my taste nor does it set any new bench mark or standards. Hate to be the critic here, but as a fan, I'm seriously let down by this. However, it's only a concept so I guess there is hope!

Eh, I was expecting MUCH worse, so I dont think it looks that bad, its sleek and sexy like a Lambo should be, but a Lambo sedan...?

October 2, 2008 1:24 AM
actually if i saw one of these on the road right now.. i'd be like "omgomgomgomgomgomg" :P... but that's only cuz of the name. however... looks wise... i'd turn heads just to be like... omg what a hideous creation :P compared to like omgomgomgomg omg an LP640! :D haha... even the quatroporte is nicer looking than this... very subtle, sleek and not too flashy, but the name maserati just completes it :D (the quatroporte)

October 2, 2008 6:33 AM
Anyone spot the Miura lines? Rear round wheel hip and the sharp front end? I can see Lamborghini's direction fromt his car onwards, going away further and further from the box shape(not neccessarily edge shape).

andy
October 2, 2008 6:49 AM
this car will earn no credits for what they are expecting !!!..would you buy this car for the price 250,000 USD or come to the bentley dealer to get a bentley flying spur ?? we dont need a 4 doors coupe which can make 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds

October 2, 2008 9:31 AM
be interesting to see if these four door supercars are going to have much of a future given the current rate of evaporation of wealth. Ex-millionaires in the West will cease to be able to afford them and the new millionaires of the East and Second/Third world will snap them up and crash them as they tend to do now with their sports cars. Either way these cars may not survive long.

October 2, 2008 10:18 AM
Simply put... this car is sickly ugly. It makes no practical sense at all.

isaacu
October 2, 2008 2:29 PM
We have it! After all the "teasers", we get to see the "whole" car.

I am impressed with this concept car. Principally, because Lamborghini could have been left "floundering" looking for a "4-door" design that actually worked for the "Bull" and secondly, giving us design continuity a la the "Lamborghini Espada".

As it is, it is a finely resolved design. Only needing true tidying around the rear wheel arches which are a bit too protrusive and the roof which can be "domed" a bit more.

I would have loved to have seen "interior shots" of this car in black or tan alcantara. So I can only speculate...

Lamborghini, must pray that a certain car company do not come along late one night while no one is watching and put the legend "Quattroporte" on its flanks....

If this concept car reaches production and I believe it will, then I want one in "Grigio"...

Forza Italia!!!

October 3, 2008 5:30 AM
Ok, So I've see the car in real life now and even though I still stand by my previous entry that a 4 door is a mistake for Lamborghini. Couple of years back that built a SUV, that too was error in judgement for them, thats why you do not see it on their website.

Now if they made this car into a 2 door, front engine, 4 wheel drive car and work a bit more on the rear, then this would be a great entry level Lambo to compete against the new Ferrari Californa. or even against it's step brother the R8.

motorjedi
October 3, 2008 5:46 AM
Meh. I've never been bored by a Lambo before in my life. And I love the brand, so I'm actually forcing myself to like this. They should've just made a 2-door, 4-seater GT like the Scaglietti. The details at the front and rear are very nice, but there's nothing exciting in between. No lunacy = no Lamborghini. Still miles better than that Panamera thing, I'd take it over the Quattroporte too, but I'd actually have a Rapide over this - even though it looks exactly like the DB9. Lambo makes such sexy mid-engined cars, taking a few more cues from them wouldn't have hurt. Scoops? Cuts? Space-thrusters? (LOL, Clarkson). I thought they were trying to prove that even saloons could be wild and Lamboey. Not with this.

Hell blunt-minded BMW 7 series as an example how make profit in Russian, Chinese, Indian and other markets of rising agressive mediocrity. That Lambo is a same thing but rear and expensive as it is will be sold out in Middle East.

October 6, 2008 11:20 PM
WHY ALL THE HATING? Let's be real here. None of you have been to the Paris show and seen that thing in flesh. Let's be real again. It's basically a 4 door Gallardo, and that's much better than a 4 door Porsche. You certainly wouldn't have to convince me to take the keys to one.

I like it...this is what a exec in the porn industry would drive to work in. It's not a posh saloon...but a bad-ass "I hate saloons but I need to drive one..." type of car.

The wheels are especially tempting...

Should sell out in the Middle East if they start selling it! They're getting tired of the Bentleys and the Rollers over there...

since they sold themselves to the germans, the design has been horrible.. it looks so german. why does it have the lamborghini badge on it?

i just read in the article about a diesel engine?? diesel in a supercar?? sure audi and the rest of the germans can do this crime, but lamborghini? it seems they ve sold their soul as well..
