so the air vents actually rotate? That is so cool! Nice one Audi, i like the details, just try to put at least some of them into production.

very very nice
P.S. forget the seats and the air vents. they will never make it into the final version.

i don't like those Q5 lights on the rear and the interior is taken from a nissan micra. looks cheap. front is like every other audi. it's like a too hot washed A3. in the end, it's still better looking compared to bmw 1 series. need to see it in person. is it just me or is the rear a homage to the first A3 ?

you know... this car is winging me over with its details however... at then end the final product will have none of those nd it will kill the whole car.. thats why i give props the new bmw x1 because its straight forward/close to production. i know they are not direct competitors but from presentation to production... audi always tries too hard an disappoints where bmw has just the right amount of both

Dishuisting little devil. They try so hard to come up with something to compete with the 1 Series! They definately know who the King is in that segment. BMW 1 is stylish, premium look sporty and most of all it is a true BMW. Unlike this VW dropping. As far as this A1 is concerned, it should be compared to the Ford Ka, cherry and KiaP. afterall, they stole the lights from the Mazda concept, the rotating concept from Kia and inspired by BMW. UTTER RUBBISH. Probably a car for those teenage girls who want to be a rock star (those with black nails, piercing and black lips - YUK)

i don't think it's too hard to compete with the fugly little pig called bmw 1. btw what will they come up with next? X4 - a cross country Z4 version?

How the hell is that a one series competitor? BMW fanboyim gone nuts.
October 2, 2008 12:44 am
it isnt competing with the 1series, the A3 competes with it. The A1 will compete with the Mini and maybe even Smart.

Hahah..GPKH
Once again, you talk garbage. BMW 1 series is vomit-material. This car is going to KICK SOME BMW ass!

the bmw 1-series is in competition with the A3 not this A1. the A1 is in competition with cars like the MINI etc.
and yes it is meant to attract younger customers.

hmmm interesting... but i dont think that it looks amazing, i dont really think it looks that good at all. what is it supposed to compete with??

this car has shown some great details like the lights and the curves show character of this car. but i think the front is too fierce to fit the rest of the car.
i'll take a mini cooper works! vvroom...!
well, everyone loves mini!
October 2, 2008 1:52 am
I'd go for this over the mini any day...i however doubt the A1 production version will look this flashy though

There are a few poeple on this thread with their noses too far up BMWs rear end to see the real point of this car: 0-62 in under 8 seconds and over 60mpg, with 92g/km! That means Mini Cooper S like performance, diesel economy hatch performance, Congestion Charge exemption and five doors from a premium car manufacturer. Where else can anyone get all this?
I think it looks a little predictable, but the devil is in the detail; let's see how many of the jewels and nice touches make it to the production version.
October 2, 2008 5:52 am
right on. the A1 is meant to look sporty and quite ceap to buy/run. and Audi are scoring big time on that here. I just hope it drives as good as a Mini..
October 3, 2008 6:40 pm
Those who dont like the Audi A1 - simple- dont buy it. Stick to the boring oregami corollas, albeit and arguably the worlds best selling mass box passenger module since the model T, even though the former has changed drive train and shape format more times than Hollywood actors/resses change husbands/wives !!
