Aston Martin one-77

[UPDATE 10.02.2008] Aston Martin have confirmed in a press release that the Project One-77 powered by a new Aston Martin 7.3 litre V12 engine producing 700bhp and a top speed in excess of 200mph. Deliveries expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2009.

A teaser image and first details were released a couple of months ago of a new Aston Martin supercar that will be called, one-77. As the name suggests, it will be produced in a limited production run of just 77 units with the first deliveries towards the end of next year.

Further details and images have now been unearthed by Dutch site 925.nl which confirms the model will carry an astronomical price of £1,050,000 excluding taxes. The two-seater sports coupe will be available in either left or right hand drive.  It will boast an aluminium body with carbon fibre extrusions that will keep the overall weight of the car down to around 1500kg.

The naturally aspirated front-mid mounted engine will possess a displacement of 7.0 liters backed up with a total of 12 cylinders, power outage is reported to be in the region of 710hp and 750Nm(553lb-ft) of torque. It is mated to a 6 speed automated manual transmission that features an Auto Shift Manual/Select Shift Manual (ASM/SSM) electro-hydraulic control system.

Aston Martin will enhance the overall performance of the one-77 with a carbon ceramic braking system and a height adjustable suspension that will work in tandem with the dynamic stability control system.

doesnt this car also allow the customer to design the design of the exterior and the interior to their own requirements? hence the ridonkulous price?

I agree with peterjames7, the price is huge. I don't think there will be many buyers. For that kind of money you can have a cars like veyron, koenigsegg, enzo or reventon. Aston Martin probably wants to show what they can build, how far they can go with evolution of their cars. There will be a short series, probably between 50 and 100. Still waiting for DBS Volante

there won't be many buyers because there will be only 77 of those to buy :) I can ensure You they will be sold out very quickly, as for this money this is one of the most exclusive cars out there. It's really not always about the specs.

77 cars will be made, as it says in the article. Do you people actually read the article before you comment on it? And yeah, the price is ridiculous...!

aston will build only 77 units of the 1-77 and there are enough enthusiastic collectors in the world. by theway: the enzo and the reventon are alreday sold out. you should read the articles first before you make a stupid comment.

is it so difficult to understand that aston will build only 77 units? and how many bugattis are alreday built? much more than 77!

odysseus, you need to fkin cool down let people think its expensive. I also think its a heck of a rip of to those enthusiastic enough to buy one of those. After all its a pretty normal Aston with a pretty normal Aston engine and normal Aston looks, it doesnt look much different from the DBS. You can tune any aston to get that output and change the style and handling and voila you have a one of a kind super performing aston. It woul just be stupid to buy one of those.

end of next year is very quick for a product development. £1m... unfortunately it really doesnt look as exotic. all their cars in the range now look too alike. sometimes too much family resemblance is not a particularly good thing. btw WCF, did u misread again? the picture says "Body - Handmade aluminum, Backbone - carbon fibre" how do you get "it will boast an aluminium chassis and carbon fibre body structure"?

Look at the door cuts and the door hinges. Is this a cross between Gullwing doors and Ford-GT style roof cutouts?

You kidding me, I'd rather have the DBS, than this. This has got to be the ugliest Aston to date, what did they do ask a 16 kid who thinks he car designs car in his spare time. Now way would I spend that much on this.

http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080428.006/rendered-speculation-aston-martin-supercar This rendering looks much better than one-77. Where is a real British supercar???

Even that one is far too extreme for Aston. And is reminds me too much of the early Jaguar supercar

This is a special car, special than bugatti. It shows the capabilities and technology of aston martin. I am very sure that all of one-77 will be sold, just like reventon. there are lots of rich people that couldnt resist to buy these kind of astronomic priced special cars, and companies make much more money.
