Under the stewardship of David Richards, Aston Martin has become an automaker that is making waves in the industry. A brand new limited edition £1million supercar dubbed one-77 is currently in development, and soon we will see the unveiling of the Rapide Four-Door Coupe. However, one of its most surprising moves has been the decision to revive the Lagonda brand.  The first concept is due to be presented to the public next year while full production is planned for 2012.

No specific details have been released on what the first model could be, but one possibility could be a four door luxury sedan which has been eloquently rendered by WCF resident Andrei Avarvarii. We already know that Aston Martin is quite capable of producing beautiful cars, so we have no reason to believe Lagonda will be any different. The grille has been designed to be the luxury equivalent of the “smile” we usually see on Aston Martins. The body skulpture has creases that are intended to dissimulate the massive proportions of the car while simple, clean lines are emphasized by high-tech elements for a car that is filled with history, yet aimed at the future.

Who's responsible for this?? What a lack of inspiration...It's just the Buick Riviera Concept...

"eloquently rendered by WCF resident Andrei Avarvarii." as other put it most properly, "Rubbish".

Aston Martin will never design such a car.

this render shows the lack of understanding of the Aston Martin / Lagonda brand in the artist.

the whole shape and details are not aston martin, or even british.

if he is a little more observant, the plate should read "AML 1" instead of some "AVA 4478" gibbish.

What is British? Even the new Jaguar XF looks like a Hyundai ripoff.

LMS: if you see the XF as a hyundai rip off then you don't know design very well. please point out which hyundai looks like the XF.

As you guys read on - keep in mind those who are critical - the challenge is can you guys do better? - if so prove it

That is so funny... before I even got to the comment from n1c0, I was thinking... this looks like some sort of Buick concept car/sedan. The big Buick "waterfall" grill doesn't help it either unfortunately. Oh well...

I was thinking more of a lancia or maybe the dacia sanderos older cousin

This is a photoshoped picture of DBS, look at the scenery. Rubish, no matter. The matter is that the Lagonda Brand is going to be reborn. Hope that Aston will create more independent styling on Lagonda than Mercedes did with Maybach.

Vertical grilles NEVER work. For example: Maybach Buick Lagonda Horizontal and mesh grilles are the way to go, emphasising width not height.

once again, somebody with no knowledge of anything about a car, "rendering" what it "might" look like... if you're completely guessing, why not draw something interesting?

OMG! It looks like the result of a one night stand between a Lada and a Maybach – Aston never would design such a crap!

How the hell is this a Lagonda Sedan?? I'm pn;y 15, but I'm pretty sure Lagondas weren't known for being huge and round. It's not even a Sedan! It's like a 4 door coupe. Oh yes. And it's grille is upside-down...

Looks like the crossing of a Bentley GT Speed & a Toyota Prius, just a rendering so nothing to care about....

This last week has seen the game change. These super saloons risk becoming some of the motor industry's greatest white elephants.

looks good I think, but has nothing to do with Astons Lagonda. Maybe it whould be a nice small Maybach...

About the Sedan-comment: For sure the Lagonda is a Sedan. The so called 4-door-coupé is a marketingjoke. The CLS, the Passat CC, Audi A7 etc. are all sedans with four doors and no Coupés. They are only coupé-like because of there shapes...

Coupe is from the French verb couper "to cut".In automotive terms it can be traced back to stage coaches where it was used to specify "without". Without extra doors, without extra length, without extra seats is not specified. Coupe has come to its current automotive definition from years of "status quo" ignorance. Seems like you're trying to extend the years...

Lexus Shmexus. Clueless shmueless. And do try to get over those idiotic raised headlights, that stretch back up the bonnet like some facelift that's gone wrong. Aston would never do that. BMW will never do that. Get over it.

Exactly why renderers remain renderers while some people are car designers.
