Toyota has announced on their official Open Road Blog that they will display a pair of Venza project cars at this year's Specialty Equipment Market Assn. (SEMA) show in Las Vegas. In cooperation with well known tuners, Five Axis and Street Image, Toyota plan to show another side of the modest crossover's personality.

The Venza AS V by Five Axis not only showcases eccentric body styling but features unique storage and utility system called, Integrated Cargo Carrier (ICC). The system accommodates easy access and storage for recreation equipment such as bicycles and skis.

The SportLux Venza by Street Image Inc. appears to have massively over sized wheels in the attached renderings. It will be funny to see if they get close to those actual dimensions. Nonetheless, the approach on this Venza is more traditional with flavorful body styling, full navigation/entertainment system plus custom leather upholstery inside.

Some words about the 2 "renderings" First image: bad photoshop with a bad rear-wheel perspective. Second image: I think Hartge will not be pleased to see their rims on a Toyota van :p

Umm isn't this quite low to be a crossover? :D It looks just like a lowered estate to me.

What else can you say other than Toyota is run by a bunch of old farts that like to have their meals at set times preferably 9:00 breakfast, 12:00 lunch followed by a nap, dinner at 17:00 and lights out at 20:00?

I suppose you could also say that their idea of cool is a body kit on a people carrier, or that their drowsiness is contagious hence the Toyota Aurius's expression of "I rather sleep than drive".

So yes, I rather go to sleep permanently and be awoken by a gay prince as if I were in a fairytale rather than drive this piece of ZZZZZ on wheels.

I wanted some opinions on whether to wait and get the Venza or get the '09 Pilot. Besides the fact that the Pilot has more room, which one do you think a better automobile from what you have seen from both so far?

Its a shame that nissan stopped producing the nissan stagea, the 2001+ m35 models are a good machine with the VQv6 engines and some with the atessa ets all wheel drive system from 215hp and an economical 8.6L-100km. but i must say that the Toyota above is nice.

A low-rider Toyota, not a car, nor an SUV
