Rendered Speculation: Ferrari Four-Door Coupe

Igor Krasnov / Ferrari Four-Door Coupe Artists Rendering

The designers on cardesign.ru have presented a series of renderings in the past. They have included the next generation Mazda3 and a rendition of the potential Renault Alpine. Now a designer on the Russian site has taken the bold step in creating a bunch of illustrations depicting what a Ferrari four-door supercar may look like. There is most likely very little chance that Ferrari would create a model like this, but with the Aston Martin Rapide and Porsche Panamera on the horizon plus the Lamborghini Estoque Concept making its debut in just a few days, the four-door supercar could be the latest trend for super car makers.

Bored Russian. Awful looks. The 4-Door Coupes are ridiculous, maybe the CLS or Passat CC looks nice but they're not practical at all. There is not enough space, it's hard to get in the back, so as standard 2-Door coupe! Why they didn't make 2-Door CLS and Passat???

You right about the Ferrari not the CLS and CC do u own a CLS or CC becaues they the best of coupes

its logical that 4 doors coupe are easier to get into the back compared to a 2 doors coupe. coupes dont pack spaces at the back like a sedan either. because 4 doors coupes set a new dimension and the "pioneer" cls proved it. and the market for 4 doors coupe is growing, porche and aston martin are going to break into the market too. for me, a ferrari coupe must find the right balance between comfortness and sportiness. hope they get it right. i see no point in a coupe as rigid as a sportcar.

That's not too bad actually. Look at it this way, it's not half as hideous as that Panamera thing - that looks like a Cayenne that's had an elephant dropped on it. For the sake of competition, I wouldn't be half surprised if they made it. They could use the Maser Quattroporte chassis or a stretched version of the 612 if they wanted to save costs.

Only thing I disagree with on this concept is all that black. Not necessary. And it doesn't need that big or rough a rear overhang. It could do with some California/F430 rear styling. Otherwise it seems quite plausible.

Thank you. Finally someone with an ounce of intelligence. It's not an educated guess at a future product, it's some crackpot with a reasonable degree of design experience. An utter waste of resources.

So, what should Mercedes Benz do now, to get these companies back to producing sports cars?? :O All these want to compete with the CLS, as we know..

Beautiful work - are you in Pininfarina? :)

September 29, 2008 3:36 PM
now what? pininfarina badge slapped on the car again? if porsche and aston martin start production with their coupes, i dont see any reasons why ferrari will not try to break into that market. competition and survival anyway. ferrari's main rivals are warming up the engines of their coupes already. ferrari will not sit back and relax. they felt the pinch and will starting biting back.

The front looks real good, the rear doesnt fit at all and its hideous. I dont think ferrari should make a four-door coupe. I actually think that no car brand should come up with any new stupid models, cause all new models so far has been stupid. Like the X6, its uglyer and less practical than the X5. Or the Panamera, its utterly disgusting to look at and not as practical as it should be with four doors and all.

it was going to happen that some foll render a concept for a 4 door ferrari. The is by far the worst design I've seen yet. Hell this is even uglier that the Porsche 4 door. The rear looks nothing like any of the ferrari's and terrible modeling.

As a 'rendering' this looks like an upturned fry pan spatula ! Why would Fiat/Ferrari bother when their beautiful current Maserati 2 and 4 door models cover this market. Arguably, Ferrari has no need to go this way ,people buy Ferrari's because of what they are; not as family sedans. Hardly think Porsche's Panamerica 4 dr is going to cause nail biting in Ferrari's boardroom. The sales market will determine whether such additional offerings - real or concept- are wanted. What next, a Ferrari SUV ?

This looks UGLY. Like a cadi rip off. If they want to make a 4 door, just take the platform off the maserati 4 door and ferrari it up.

The front of the rendering is actually atractive, it has Ferrari cues, but the back has nothing to do with the Ferrari language, the Russian designer should've used the F430/Enzo look for the back. All in all, Ferrari makes money with their F1, enough not to produce a sedan, however, even though the CEO said: "There will never be a sedan as long as I'm in Ferrari," when the AM Rapide, the Lambo Estoque and the Porsche Panamera come out swinging, Ferrari may be tempted by the huge market potential. Even BMW is preparing a concept CS-inspired "sports coupe" that segment is huge and profitable.
