Why MB is going to abandon the brilliant sandwich-floor design of the A and B escapes me. It makes these cars so versatile for alternative power sources, not to mention safer and roomier. These cars could have been smarter than the smart if they had just gotten the technology into them (and marketed them better, as premium cars with a small footprint rather than just Golf-class cars with a Star on the grille).

I would love to have a car like this, even if you could only obtain fuel at a few locations. I still have not seen any flex fuel stations.
