The Fiat 500 Abarth Essesse has broken loose ahead of schedule after these first images surfaced on the net and we have what appears to be the Mini Cooper S' most potent threat to date. No official details have been released but we believe a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine is hiding beneath its posterior, probably possessing in the region of 170 ponies, just above the 160hp Fiat 500 Abarth Opening Edition.

The body kit just screams “Hot Hatch” to you, in comparison to the regular 500 Abarth model we can see the Essesse version gets a new set roughly 17 inch alloy wheels, a nifty rear spoiler and a remodelled rear end sporting a newly installed rear diffuser and a twin exhaust set-up.

You may also notice that these pictures also include an even beefier looking version sporting a rear wing, additional air intakes on the hood, a huge front spoiler, sports bucket seats and the huge air intake manifold is missing its set of fog lights. We are unsure whether this model is wearing an optional appearance package or we could well have a motorsports version on our hands. Either way we are likely to find out full details in the coming days.

personally i find that they have ruined the car, it is supposed to be a stylish city run about... not what ever that is! i just think it looks ugly and stupid and if you get one you are w*nker

Nope, I think they will always drive BMWs. I love this car. It's like a muscley small dog: an aggressive stance but big brown eyes.

And to Gorgonzola it has 170bhp. I had that in my Cooper S (near as) and you can have a lot of fun with 170bhp in the right car.

Lol, it says it has 170 'ponies', which is pretty much hp, just above the Open edition with 160bhp. Read right and get your facts straight.

to 122: probably a polar neck wearing, designer-wanna-be, red wine sipping prat, with an abundant diesel ware.....hence... ***.

It´s not about how many HP´s do you have, it´s about Weight vs HP´s what really matters

hmmm this stripped down version weighs around 2000lbs, 2000/170=11.76 lb/hp, hmmm the new camaro is 3800lbs with 400hp... 3800/400=9.5 lb/hp. Therefore camaro=better looking, better power/weight ratio, and cheaper?

Thats the most retarded comparison ever made. Camaro V Arbarth, where'd ya come up with that???? have you been having sleep overs with gorgonzola?

I think the car is a great looking and should be a really fun drive. Its about time there was some Cooper S competition. I'd love to wind the boost up a bit and fit an LSD!!!

well... when people excuse the power a car makes by saying it's power to weight ratio makes it all better... it better at least have a decent power to weight ratio. In this case, it's decent... but definitely doesn't compensate for the fact that your gonna be driving a pop can car designed to appeal towards metrosexuals.

'Missing it's foglights' then what the fck are those two little round lights in the lower front valance you moronic waste of space.. I could train a mountain gorilla with an Oyster card to write more accurate articles than this.
