A new Lamborghini model will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show next month. The Italian manufacturer released an initial teaser image earlier this week revealing a centrally mounted ceramic coated exhaust pipe integrated into the lower rear bumper diffuser. Now a second teaser image has been released showing the front left wheel from the side of the vehicle. It also shows a glimpse of the body profile of the hood along with the rear point of the headlight and a portion of the carbon fibre spoiler.

Does this help us clarify what this vehicle is? Not really. But due to the fact the photos of the model are located in the concept area of their press website, we can rule out the possibility of it being a production vehicle. Rumours flying around have stated it could be either a new ultra high-spec special edition of the LP640 or a four door concept. Our suspicions point towards the latter, but no confirmations have been forthcoming.

yep, it seems it will be 4doors, the car is to high to be a lp640 SV, wait and see

there were always report of espada concepts. so not necessarily 4 door. may be a 2+2, which will fit better than a 4 door in the portfolio. here's CDN news way back in 2005 http://archive.cardesignnews.com/news/2005/050812scuolapolytechnica/index.html many iterations that may resemble what you will see in the paris debut.

and further, you will find SPD work closely with lamborghini to develop concepts. look at their upcoming design program description.

i would not be surprised this mystery model is spawn from the 2005 student's design.

i really think this is the response for the 599 gtb fiorano even though it is in the concept aera of lambos website i doubt lamborghini will make a 4 door super sedan

Possibly something like an RX8 4door but painfully quick

Definitely not a rear engined car, the front fender seems to indicate the cabin space to be further back. I find in fascinating that nobody took any spy pictures of the prototype car and that there are no "image leaks"... Might be just a concept (?)

ok, maybe check this link it's a new version of the espada 2doors but 4 seats

looking at the picture and the drawing, it looks similar

wow. 6 pistons caliper. notice the italy flag logo on the tiny side grill! in my opinion, i'll not think it will be a lp640. for a lp640, the front wheels are located very near to the doors. in this picture presented a tiny grill which totally took up the space for the door. i think it could be FR coupe (folding hard-top?!), a new model to rival ferrari california. it could be!

This is NOT an LP640 SV, fenders are completely different. Looks like a 4 seater, either a sedan or 599 rival.

I think it is a new 2-Door Coupe, maybe 4-seater but rather 2+2, an answer for Bentley Continental GT Speed, Ferrari 612 Scaglietti or Mercedes CL 65 AMG. Lamborghini should have a comfortable and fast cruiser - GT, for everyday use. Driving Murcielago or Gallardo in the traffic is ridiculous

italian flag? i thought lambo is owned by zee germans (even if it is manufactured in italia)

Ah, there are no such thing as bad wheels on a Lamborghihi. Modern Lamborghini that is.

uh oh, now I am getting worried.

munch997
September 19, 2008 7:16 PM
i think its is front engined aswell. doesnt have carbon ceramic discs though which surely you would need in a car with lamborghini amounts of power and 4-doors? thinking of the cars weight....

munch997
September 19, 2008 7:20 PM
I think it may be a car to challenge the Ferrari california. front enginged V8?/V10 with folding metal roof.... at least it doesnt look like an SUV

I never thought the day would come when Lamborghini copies Hyundai. Here's the side of the current Tiburon: http://allworldcars.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2006/07/2-2007-2008-hyundai-tiburon.jpg

Interesting...

Defintely not a special an LP640 edition. looks like it will be front engine and 4 seater. maybe two door, maybe four. but definitely out of charachter for lamborghini

September 19, 2008 8:15 PM
What the heck are you guys talking about? how do you tell all that stuff about this car simply by looking at a portion of the front of the side profile?

Would it not be better to reserve your comments till we all know for sure what this is?

MadMaTTer
September 19, 2008 11:13 PM
thats what teasers and this article is for; to speculate. anyways it looks to be front engine due to the position of the wheels relative to the fender lines. Also they probably wouldnt need those vents in that location if there wasnt an engine in the front.

now, its possible although unlikely that lambo made a mid-front-engine car, meaning the engine is pushed aft of the front wheels but forward of the cockpit.

GK27V6
September 19, 2008 8:37 PM
look at the line in front of the wheel which then continues on the other side of the wheel followed by the little vent. That's what I'm talking about specifically. Now I'm sure they didn't "copy" Hyundai, I just thought I'd point out my observation and most of use can agree that the side of the front wheel area looks very similar between the two cars.

mickey_f1
September 19, 2008 8:43 PM
GK27V6 is actually right. Just look at the edge on the upper side in front and behind the fender. And also check out the bumpers... The concept is exactly the same on this small area of the car.

pscs
September 19, 2008 10:14 PM
wow, they really do look similar.

That tiny air vent and the long front fender do suggest a front engined car.

kimbo
September 19, 2008 8:39 PM
it is front engined car for sure, but I hope it is not a saloon car. Maybe 4 seater, but 2 door

IpsesNipse
September 19, 2008 10:15 PM
Cant imagine Lambo with a front engine car. Perhaps fourseater but i hope not four doorsBut if its a four seater it cant be midengined. HMMM.. Not Lamborghini like.

munch997
September 19, 2008 10:25 PM
it can, the engine would be positioned between the front and rear wheels, mid engined doesnt always mean behind the seats

MadMaTTer
September 19, 2008 11:05 PM
actually you need space to put the engine in so it would need to be behind the seats or in front or in between whihc wouldnt make much sense, unless the car ends up being really tall

Bristol411S3
September 20, 2008 12:16 AM
Too young to remember the Merak...?

This concept is definitely front engined. The rest we can only guess.

Joe_Limon
September 21, 2008 11:01 PM
look at the caterham's they are mid engined with the engine ahead of the driver.

Lamborghini
September 19, 2008 10:50 PM
I guess the drawing MC959 linked could be it. It looks extremely similar to the pic we have here. I think it would be awesome if Lamborghini made a 4 seater 2 door. Cannot wait to see the real thing in October.

September 20, 2008 12:43 AM
wow they are amazing looking rims! and sadly i think it is going to be a 4 door...

IpsesNipse
September 20, 2008 1:31 AM
please dont let it be a four door. All four door coupes have turned out lookin like donkeys. Even the CLS. There is one sort of good looking four door coupe and its the aston martin rapide. Coupes are for people who have many cars or dont need a practical car. Arrrgh who am i kidding fourdoor coupes are quite good but they just look so stupid that i dont like them

motorsport13
September 20, 2008 1:46 AM
at least it isnt a SUV

motorjedi
September 20, 2008 2:12 AM
It's definitely not an SUV because of the profile and the front carbon lip. I don't think it's a concept because, judging by the Reventon, Lambo concepts are WILD - production ready? How'd they keep it from us. These lines are too sedate. Because of the little Italian Flag side vent it's got going there, I'd reckon it's front-engined. Otherwise the hinge for the scissor doors would've sat there. It would be great (if this is a front engine GT) to still have scissor doors behind the engine. How hot would that be? 2 doors or 4? Can't tell yet, but I think 4 is ludicrous for Lambo - 2 I can live with. I like munch997's idea of it being a California rival. I wouldn't mind that - if it's insane enough...

September 20, 2008 3:12 AM
i think the engine is in the front, im i wrong?

AG4
September 20, 2008 11:43 AM
Its most likely a front-mid mounted engine. Its probably a spiritual successor to the Espada or GT models.

mickey_f1
September 20, 2008 10:17 AM
It is probabaly the sort of car that would be copetition for the Ferrari California.

M!
September 20, 2008 12:16 PM
look at the fender. you cannot even see the door cutout. this is going to be a front mid engine lamborghini.

if u evaluate the size of the wheel / centre cap / bolts, caliper, tire sidewall, ground clearance, you can get a good guestimate.

super_car_muscle_man
September 20, 2008 1:10 PM
ive got a feeling its front engined too. its a bit low, but the nose will be long!-or atleast it looks like it will. i cant wait to find out!

i'm loving that italian flag logo. yea yea its manufactured by germans, but its originally italian. that's that. that'll be stupid to put a "german" flag in a lambourghini.

_M7_
September 20, 2008 8:58 PM
yep at least its not a SUV but it also looks like front engine :S I hope Im wrong cause Im stiil waiting the 680hp Murcielago SV

andrewB
September 20, 2008 10:26 PM
there was a SV model of the murcielago running around with different markings to the normal model or the LP640, it could be that or hopefully it will be a four seat two doors concept, interesting with that sketch from the above website does has silimar front fenders

September 21, 2008 4:35 AM
small brakes??? considering these are frint wheels and the wheels can't be any more than 19...

kimbo
September 21, 2008 10:32 AM
front brakes are always bigger than rear ones. so yes, they're quite small.

mmr66
September 21, 2008 9:38 PM
its maybe just a concept so i dont think the brakes will matter yet.

munch997
September 21, 2008 10:55 PM
