Thanks to the goodfellas at Jalopnik we can show you the first image of an open top version of the 9X BioHybrid – the 9X Air. No specific details are known about this vehicle, but the open top takes more of a speedster look to it rather than the more conventional convertible body style.

The new concept follows the 9X BioHybrid Concept which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show earlier, receiving a mixed reaction. On one hand we had a great looking model which supposedly previews the 9-1 production car, but on the other hand it was a concept produced on the cheap – none other than a body shell model which you can do little more than look at it. A new BioHybrid engine was also lauded about, but what is the point of going crazy about some hybrid engine that can't even be driven? Facts like these make any new derivative of the concept difficult to take seriously.

Regardless of how good this concept may be, Saab need to bring a good production version to the market to give enthusiasts something to get excited about.
