looks actually quite good and i dont think its gonna be that much more expensive. Special editions dont usually cost any more than the extra equipment makes it unless its got some stupid armani name on it or something like that

They haven't even started selling it and they are already using marketing tricks like "collector's edition"... How can it be a "collector's" edition, what is it about it that makes it a collectable!? Do I have to buy more than one!? Do I only get to buy one if I already have 5 other Golfs!? It might be a hint to the car's overpriced nature...

You all might need a life. If VW wants to build a "Collectors" Golf and some people want to buy it, WTF do you care ? Its none of your BUSINESS in that case, since you clearly don't approve. This kind of car allows people to enjoy the sort of interior you would expect in VIP sedans while not having to suffer all of the draw backs; a $#itload of $$$ on the price, bad gas mileage and high insurance costs.

Of course they are in it for the money! How gullible do you have to be to think anything else? That's all any car manufacturer is in business for. It's a multi billion dollar market place. How they attract their customers and how they earn brand loyalty is what separates them. VW Golfs have a huge reputation in Germany and most of Europe as well, and the working man still strives to own a Golf and be seen in a Golf. It's the poor mans Mercedes really, and VW make a hell of a lot more profit from the Golf then Mercedes do any of their cars. And BTW I'm not a fan of the Golf, never have been, but VWs success with that car is quite amazing.

'Granted, it's just a concept, but is that really necessary?' - is this entire concept really neccessary. Seems lame in my opinion... especially putting 18" wheels on a stock golf. Ricey. Fork out x-amount of money for leathers seats, wheels and some name-whoring?
