Toyota launch schedule appears to be a long drawn out affair, they initially started with a single rear three-quarter shot of the sedan variant last week, now we are treated to shots of the front end along with a profile image of the wagon variant and a lonely image of the interior.

Toyota's European flagship was designed at ED2, the Toyota design studio in the south of France with production set to commence at their facility in Britain, Toyota has promised a mix of superior quality, dynamic handling and refined ride comfort. The automotive giant has also confirmed some of the new safety technologies set to be employed in the new generation models, these will include Steering-assist Vehicle Stability Control (VSC+), Adaptive Front Light System (AFS) and Pre-Crash Safety System (PCS).

Expect more details to be released over the coming weeks leading up to its worldwide debut at the Paris Motor Show next month.

i don't really like the front, at least on this shot, and the interior is nothing I have expected after Auris.

I actually like this version of the R8. It has those "unnecessary-maxima-like" headlights, simply beautiful.

I=The front is very ugly. It has too many straight and curvy lines mixed together. There is a pattern forming here of boring and ugly Toyota's, this and the Auris.

my god this is boring, this must be one of the crappest interiors of any modern saloon, and this is ment to bring up sales in europe, competing with the mondeo, insignia, and passat

If this had a Saturn badge on it, would anyone be the wiser?

this is a strange looking car for the sake of making a strange looking car - why bother...

Mondeo/C5/Laguna/Mazda6 blah blah all look much better

its being different for the sake of being different. Like a goth. Who are in a minority. Therefore people will not buy it except for it to become a minicab

Jeesuss what an ugly beast. Seriously with rubbish like this how long will Toyota stay the worlds no. 1 car maker?

I think I just threw up a little in my mouth. At least the grandpa hat brigade will not die of excitement when they buy one:-)

looks like the front is wider then the rear, seems that they want to give it the opposite look of a Testarossa; it seems it works cause the front part is awefull!!!!

i will reserve judgement until i see it in the flesh, but first impressions are not very favourable. its a bit of a mish mash, but lets not be in any doubt, this is far better than the yawn inducing Mondeo. as for the interior? what the!? are they for real? wood? how many minutes did it take to design the thing? its absolutely diabolically boring. theres nothing in there that wants you to feel special about. why have they not even tried to make it look knockout? shame on you toyota, and the euro designers who designed the thing!

@ asif: the euro designers probably come from Japan, lol

The most 'un-designed' car I've seen in a long time. Toyota! This isn't good enough for 2008!

WTF???

This people should be kidding....

Toyota isn't a sport's car, is something reliable, with high quality materials comfy interiors and good engines, not to be pretty, is made to be pratical for everiday!!

Tell me in everiday do you rev like a race driver and make corners so fast that your children jump inside the car???Almost never!!!!

And this car will have so good engines with an astonishing MPG, that's what u need to everiday, not a racing car that something go wrong every mile and if u put petrol enough to make that mile!!!

This car in reality should be amazing!!!!!!

I love this one and i love even more the AURIS(with TF1 package), i have never see such good interior like the AURIS, u feel free and relaxed, not like a maniac!!!!
