Ahead of its official unveiling at the Paris Motor Show, the facelifted 2009 versions of the BMW 3-Series have started to show up at German dealerships and courtesy of BMWBlog reader proXi we are able to bring you a few shots of both the sedan and wagon body styles in the flesh.

For its mid-life pep-up, the 3-series has receved a redesigned front fascia that features a heavily profiled bumper, newly contoured hood and reworked headlamps with altered graphics, all designed to emphasize the width of the model. The side mirror casings have been redesigned and we can see proXi has identified this area with a couple of close up detail shots along with further shots of the redesigned taillights.

Not to be left out, the interior also receives a number of minor modifications and enhancements, most striking being the larger 8.8 inch color monitor with four selection buttons, it is aimed at making the difficult-to-use iDrive system easier to use. Other features include a modified arm rest making the electric window buttons easier to access and a new optional 80-gigabyte harddisk.

me like, the detailed front end and hood make the model look much more valuable. Nice detail on the light cluster, the rear lights look a bit too much like the Saab 9-5 for my taste but that is a problem for the poor guys that try to chatch up with their lexus..

the sports model (white sedan) is rerally coming together nicely and does not look too much like a bargain M3...

"a new optional 80-gigabyte hard drive". -- Hard drive comes as standard with the Navigation Professional (option code 609) and it is not possible to order the hard drive separately.

It's just and LCI...it's not actually a new model in the sense the E90 etc replaced the E46 range.

I think the improvements were needed and simply bring it in line with Mercedes Benz C Class models. The twin turbo diesel engine is however, bloody awesome..

The hard drive is only 8 gigabytes, NOT 80. Clinton, you must do more research before publishing your articles.

Pretty nice, the front bumper is almost too sharp, but nice nonetheless. IMO, i like the rims alot, they remind me of last generation M3 rims. Nice overall.

Much more polished now...that bloody twin turbo engine is sooo attractive...it makes me want to go out and sell my C class...ARGHHHH...you don't understand the agony of a Merc fan lusting after a BMW engine...

i like the new looks of the 3 series... i think it looks better than the non facelifted one... and i dont find that the rear lights are ugly but i found them ugly on the non facelifted one

No offence, but it looks like a 1-series from the front, I liked the pre-facelift 3-Series better.

Looks way better now. Would love one of those with the 3 litre twinturbo diesel.

I welcome the change even though the facelifted front tends more towards the 1series; I would have preferred the front looking more like the coupe but all in all I think it looks better than the pre-facelift E90.

Life seems almost bearable again :D
