Mazda MX-5 Facelift

set to be Unveiled in Paris

Just a few weeks ago initial designs surfaced from the EU Trademark Office which revealed details on the facelifted MX-5, however these pictures required a little imagination to fully envision what the model would look like, but not any more.  Mazda has just released this official image showing the facelifted MX-5 in full frontal nudity.

Mazda hasn't given any information yet, but it appears exterior changes are kept to a minimum with only the front bumper sporting the only notable modifications with a remodelled grille and larger redesigned air intakes on either side. Moderate changes under the hood are also expected to help the Mazda MX-5 continue its strong position it already holds in its segment

What is it with new cars these days? more & more metal is being replaced with plastic parts. That front bumper is huge.

It's all due to the tightening regulations on pedestrian safety.

I prefer this to the current model, nice change!

Nooo its nothing to do with safety , ist all about Cost and reducing your outlays , if it costs £50 to make and engineer a bumber out of sheet metal , then it is cheaper to make one mould and make a thousand bumpers out of plastic for the same price .

The only cars these days that have metal bumpers are landrovers .

I don't mind the new MX-5, however they have never really pushed the envelope as far as power goes. I'd like to see a hypo 2.0L or 2.3L turbo motor. Mazda MX-5 MPS!!

Wow, this one one hell of a facelift! Looks pretty aggresive, just like the RX8. I like these peformance Mazdas.

I like this new version. The current model looks a bit lame since they eliminated the flip-up headlights. This is more in line with the styling on the rest of the Mazda lineup.

I like it. HOWEVER I WISH MAZDA WOULD JUST GIVE IT MORE POWER LIKE 240HP or just give it the turbocharged 2.3L engine out of the Mazdaspeed3 and let it loose on the S2000.

I like it too, but with more power, comes more cost. I don't think it needs S2000 power, but a maybe 200HP. would be nice.

What a car. Nice cruising two seats convertible. However, not as nice as Honda S2000.
