I couldn't really care less for the X1. Just looks like a shrunk X6. Whatever happened to the good 'ol Beemers. I'm gonna have to start Liking Audi's and VW's more.

Seriously, what happened to the Z8s and 8 series'. Why do we get crap like the X1, the ugly 7 series, PAS...BMW started the trend with its X3, Audi and Mercedes built their own to compete, now the X1. Where will it end for BMW?

Being childish. haha look whose being childish, who else but a child thinks that selling the most cars makes a company the best manufacturer in the world. why don't you grow up and face the reality that BMW is no longer what it used to be.

Haha welcome BMW critics. Awsome. They are expanding their markets. Sadly for you critics. People will buy them! Its BMW..Call them badgewhores..call them whatever you want. When your done being childish. Just watch as people buy them by the millions. Best car manufacturer in the world.

Lol @ the "BMW is fugly" comments.
BMW couldn't give a rats ass what you guys think. X series is a roaring sucess especially the X6. Don't see what the problem is with a car manufacturer trying to expand the market and in the process making a killing. BMW's selling these "fugly" X6's like nobody's business and odds are they're likely to succeed with the X1 so they're definately one of the most successful car manufacturers around. Kudos to BMW for creating new niches. They are taking risks. If you don't like the fugly X series BMW's, don't buy it. Its that simple.

BOOGIE_WOOGIE, bmw does not create new niches, only useless trends for the new rich who need to show off. who needs and x3,x5,x6 and now this x1 for the wannabes that cannot afford an x3?, too bad for an off road, too heavy for the road (huge problems with brakes and suspensions reported by owners in spain), too small inside for the size....but big enough for those who need to pump up their egos. marketing geniuses have turned our passion for cars into a superficial trend. thanks god we still have examples of a simple car with soul like first series mx5 mazdas, or the originals mini (not today?s posh clone by, again, bmw) and beetle, that can still make our hearts pump!!!

Who ever said tthat the X6 is ugly is cross eyed. I have sen a couple on the road and it's road presence is quite overcoming - magical so to say. This car simply stands out like i'm king and you are ants. This car screams "Bold mucscular sports exec status" on on the roads. The X series is here to stay.

You like the X6? Come on. I've seen on irl too, and it looks like a confused POS. The car lines are all wrong, the rear lights are just huge, and don't get me started on the front. I wouldn't even want this car if it was for free. I'll just sell again.

I have owned 4 BMW's, the current one being last gen X5. I too believe that BMW has lost it's direction in styling. No doubt their engines and performance are unequaled compared to the competition, but the designs of their cars have gone from bad to worse with the X6 and 7 series. The 3 is just boring and the new X5 is more of the same. And it looks as though the upcoming 5 series is going to be not so hot either. Their interiors (3 series especially) is very uninspiring.
