Mercedes-McLaren SLR Speedster Spy Video

Daimler's onslaught of sportscars such as the SL65 AMG Black Series has been nothing but a big kick in the nuts for the Mercedes-McLaren SLR series, poor sales has forced the model line-up to be extended. One of those will be a roadster version of the special edition 722 model and a second which can be seen here on video is the Speedster variant.

We can easily see the Speedster is missing half the windscreen and its roof, however a highly trained eye will also notice that the little more than the headlights have been saved from the regular model. Nearly all exterior panels have received a redesigned including the hood which has been modified to tame the slope leading to the high beams that were originally connected to the A-pillar.

The model is being created in homage to the Mille Miglia winning 1955 300 SLR and further evidence can be attributed to this fact with the side exit exhaust that is now placed in the side fender vents instead of the rocker panels found in the current McLaren model.

The R8 comparing is getting a bit old, but please continue by alla means if necessary. Why have they ripped the windscreen of a SLR. This certainly wont boost the sales. Same as a regular roaster but now serving flys and trash in yor face. GOOD thinkin merc. I have a tip for merc, if a car doesnt sell, take it of the market instead of making more and more stupid models of it. Whos coming with their dumb ideas. Dont try to force it if the croud dont like it.
