I heard they were going to 3.2 V6 that is supercharged for the next RS 4 because of gas price & emissons however that also might only be the S4 & S5 I'm not sure

It's fake, if it was a real RS5 the front scoops on the bumper would not be fake and covered, they would be functional cooling the big brakes and intercoolers.

ofcourse thats fake but it doesnt mean this car can not be here in 2009

Nice looking cars (fake or true), but my favorite in this class is CLK 63 AMG Black Series. When they complete the RS5 it will be interesting comparison.

Black Series is a fantastic car and its price is also fantastic comparing to RS5. They are no match for each other, Black Series is a completely different beast.

I saw this on the CAR website a couple of days ago, and I am just curious as to why everyone is so convinced that it is fake. My reason is that is some RS5 testing pictures that I saw, the front air intakes were a completely different shape, larger and more aggressive like those that we saw on the TTRS prototype

I agree with you, I have seen the prototype and this car does look very much like the real think. Also, when a photoshopped car is pictured on an angle you can usually see some distortion because its too hard to perfectly replicate the real thing, this looks authentic. Otherwise they have a photoshop expert at their disposal, but either way, the car looks stunning.

I have the magazine, got it early as a subscriber. Are the images fake, possibly but one thing for certain they haven't driven the car.
I can post up the names of who took ... generated them if it helps.

I don't know if it's true, but these are the hottest cars I've ever seen.

What's the hype about this car, by th way, those front airdams are fugly, let alone the boring ugly front grill and head lights. what's a sports car without RWD and good handling dynamics. yes the RS5 may have power but it is not smooth power that's enjoyable, it is just a rush of power without perfect control... pity and that's why it is never like a BMW. but then again, who expects a VW to be.

rubbish. these cars aren`t considered for the track, they are used on a daily basis in all weather conditions and therefore an RS5 is the better package.
also it`s not all about rear or 4wheel, it?s also about where the engine is. A mid-engine R8 or rear-engine 997-4S is superior to any BMW in handling and performance and they have an all wheel basis.

He sounds like he thinks he has actually driven the car. He probably just doesn't want to accept the inevitable, which is that the RS5 will almost undoubtably be better than the M3. However, the M3 is still a great car and people who spend all their time frothing at the mouth over which is better really are pathetic. Its like arguingover a saphire and a ruby; why would you try to argue which is better when either of them would be excellent to own?

Fake for several reasons:
A) Car Magazine always credits pictures as "photos" not "images" as they are here, last time they tagged them as images was when they ran their prediction of what the next M3 would look like.
B) The images are partly credited to "Motor Forecast", an agency who Car Magazine have used in the past for photoshop jobs of what future cars will look like.
C) I have the issue in question (I get them early as a subscriber) and in the shots the RS5 does look blatantly shopped and, although I haven't read the article properly, after skim reading it they don't seem to actually mention what the RS5 is like to drive hinting they haven't actually driven it.
D) Just a small point but that's not the proper format for a German number plate, there should be a gap between the letters and numbers whereas in the image the RS5's plate is "R S50".

FAKE. . .iv got the issue as well and the images are photoshopped, or theyve got a camera capable of bending light as one of images the wheel arches and wheel blur into each other. no talk of it being driven, and on a more common sense approach, if would audi really let some two bob magazine get an exclusive of their new Halo car before they put out even a press release??? . . . seriously

"Turbocharged". @450 bhp. They did not give details as to how many cylinders of the engine, so I guess it's safe to assume that the upcoming engine that will reside within the new RS5 could possibly be a V6. Which leads me to further assumption that the future RS4 will possess a force induced V6 as well. Hmmmm.... This is all a bit cloudy at the moment. Because I remember reading something on this very same site that the upcoming RS4 will remain a V8. I also read(also on this very same site) that beacuse of high fuel cost, a forced induced powerplant (supercharged V6 to be exact)would have been Audi's alternitive for the RS4 Hmmm... One can only sit and wait at this moment.

Seen a Audi A5 for the first time a few weeks back and its a stunner. Would have one over an M3 anyday and i'm a BMW fan.

Who gives if its fake. The fact of the matter is it will look exactly like the one pictured, if not very similar.
August 26, 2008 6:29 am
CAR did the same when the new M3 came out, with a re-hashed 335i. The M3 turned out to look nothing like what they rendered

Definately fake. Look at the RS5' License plate, the letters R and S are too far apart, that does not exist at german license plates. :-P
August 26, 2008 9:27 am
personally, logic dictates me that this is a fake. I will not enumerate the reasons, but that's my personal opinion anyway. the mention that I *would* like to make though is that I really hope the RS 5 will look "meaner" when it goes out. I mean, I know it's maybe hard, as the A/S 5 already look aggressive, but come on.. for an RS model I want more !
August 27, 2008 10:21 pm
If you are a german you will see immediatly that this is fake. Just look at the front license plate. There will never be space between two letters but there will always be space between a letter and a numeral. So here we've got two mistakes at the time. So nobody has to look for any detail at the bodywork or hints for a photoshop manipulation or anything like that. It's just that simple...
