Last week Audi gave us the first official images and details of the new RS6 Sedan ahead of its planned debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. It follows the first variant of the range, the Avant which was first shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. The front end of the new model remains identical to its sibling whereas the rear end styling mimics the design already seen on the A4 and recently revealed A6 facelift.
The same 5.0-liter Twin-Turbo V10 engine from the Avant makes it to the sedan variant producing 580 hp (426 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque, it is mated to a six-speed tiptronic automatic transmission system and power is passed to all four wheels via Audi's permanent all-wheel drive system.
Thanks to its power-to-weight ratio of just 3.4kg per HP, it enables the RS6 to boast supercar performance. The Sedan sprints from 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds, shading an extra 0.1 seconds off the Avant's time, top speed is electronically limited at 250km/h (155mph) although consumers have an option to raise this to 280 km/h (174 mph).
Check out the video for a nice clip from the studio detailing the styling of the new model.
