The next generation Opel (Vauxhall) Astra has evaded our cameras for quite some time, but we can now bring you the shots of the latest prototype to hit the streets. The black clad camouflage along with the annoying black and white paint job has covered many of the specific design details in the past but the engineers and designers are slowly removing it.

On this particular prototype we see a little more camouflage has been removed from the front fascia revealing a little more of the fog lights and giving our best look yet at the grille. Moving around to the the rear of the vehicle we can clearly see the shape of the rear window, the taillights shape can also be seen, although this prototype features some temporary lights plastered on top of them. The side panels between the edge of the boot lid and the rear passenger windows still house a large plastic cover, Opel appear to be going to extra lengths to hide what is in this area.

The five-door version which has been pictured here is expected to be unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show before going on sale in the summer as a 2010 model. Further down the line, Opel will also unveil a sporty three-door version (GTC) as well as an estate and a convertible (twin-top).

Looks like a shrunk Insignia or a R8 hatchback.
