I believe Fiat is thinking of bringing the 500 to the USA, but I really don't believe there is a market for it there (nor do they have the dealers). Not sure if I would buy one, where the roads are so large it is virtually impossible to have an accident... The MINI worked (in some states anyway) as they rode off the back of the BMW name. (and image is so-so important in such a materialistic market!) The MINI dealer I looked at was attached to a BMW dealership, and I was quoted a 12 month wait for an "S" (in 2004) plus a lease cost of $700 pcm...!! When I told the dealer, I could lease a 7-series BMW for the same money he said, "Let me look at that again, hey y'know I pressed the wrong button...! How does $3?? Sound…?" You think a dealer that quotes monthly leases day-in, day out would think something was a bit off? Guess car dealers are a bunch of Arthur Daley’s everywhere...
