Two variants of the all-new Opel Insignia were unveiled for the admiring public just last month at the British Motor Show in the hatchback and sedan bodystyles. Next month at the Paris Motor Show the wagon variant will be added to the range and now our spies can bring evidence to the table that development is well under way for the range topping OPC version.
It does make one wonder if the engineers working under the General Motors umbrella are being pressured into rushing out their new models, with four different variants coming out in such a short space of time.
This Opel/Vauxhall Insignia OPC prototype was spotted at the Nurburgring, there is a fair bit of camoflage on the front fascia which appears to be hiding larger air intakes. Under the hood it is rumoured that a modified version of the 260hp 2.8-Liter engine from the regular model will be used, featuring a new turbo charger system boosting power output to more than 300 ponies.
