There were some who may have thought they had died and gone to heaven when the Cadillac CTS Coupe Concept was surprisingly unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show early this year. It got even better when prototypes started appearing on the streets confirming General Motors had given the production version the green light and now we can tell you the wait to see the new model variant of the CTS in full glory is less than three months away.

In a recent presentation, General Motors allowed a select few journalists and Caddy enthusiasts to see the new model in person, unfortunately no photography was allowed but one piece of news that came out of the event was the confirmation of its world debut at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

The production CTS Coupe will maintain much of the design already seen in the concept. Going forward from the A-pillars the design remains identical to the CTS sedan, the rear gets a centrally mounted exhaust and the doors will feature touch-pad door handles similar to those found on the Corvette. Rear visibility on the vehicle is pretty poor, therefore GM will incorporate a rear-view camera into the interior.

The first models will come off the production line at GM's Lansing Grand River assembly plant in the summer of 2009 when it is released as a 2010 model.

that 4th pic from the last on my right is damn sweet... so aggressive. But why is the "BUTT" of the car so high up??? otherwise, design wise cadillac's cannot be beat these days.

I dunno, I think it looks retarded having such a fat a$$. The front is really awesome though. Maybe it is to improve aerodynamic efficiency? adopt the ugly prius shape in order to save fuel economy...

The whole "science and art" theme I though was a line of bs but in this example it's come together quite nice. The sedan look good too. Still, I don't know if this would change my mind about owning a caddy just yet.

they truly need to lower that back end.... seriously...dunno how that gives aerodynamic efficiency, maybe more down force, but imagine how horrid the handling might be?? back end flying around all over the place while the front stays planted lol.

Is it really a hatchback like the old Mercedes C Coupe?

It's one mean looking car that would look nice and aggresive in black.

its so robotic and muscle , i think this car is good for american only, no one from europe or asia would buy this crazy looking machine with same price as Mercedes W204 or Audi A4 ...German still rules uncle Sam ..

Wow, very neat looking car. Dunno about the front grill being such a mammoth, but it looks great from the side and rear!

Nice job!

This car looks purely violent! Yes its rear end might look ht-hatch alike but but it looks sooooooo massive as 20 tons of steel pressed into a dice. Despite of the fact its not that musculous as Mustang, Dodge or Camaro it still makes me feel respect.
