The first official image of the upcoming Infiniti G37 Convertible has been released ahead of its worldwide debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show in November.

Based on the coupe variant of the G37 range, the convertible will feature a three-piece retractable hardtop which will sport a coupe-like body profile. the audio and air conditioning systems will also be modified for maximum effect whether the top is up and down. Under the hood will be the same 330hp 3.7-liter V6 engine.

The G37 Convertible will be launched in the US early in 2009, it is yet to be decided if the model will join the sedan and coupe variants over in Europe, but the fact they even mention that it is under study strongly suggests this decision will be “yes”.

Infiniti has released the first picture of the new G37 Convertible which will receive its global debut at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show in November. Sales have initially been confirmed only for the US market where it will be launched early in 2009.

Based on the G37 Coupé, the G37 Convertible promises beautiful styling and the dynamic performance worthy of an Infiniti G. The G37 Convertible will feature a three-piece automatic retracting hardtop, to keep a coupé-like roofline, and the option of a unique interior treatment. Audio and air conditioning systems have been tuned to operate perfectly with the top up or down.

The G37 Convertible is under study for launch in Europe where it would join its sister G models, the G37 Sedan and Coupé, in Infiniti Centres which begin opening across the Continent from October.

I like it, i wouldn't necessarily buy a convertible due to weight reasons but its pretty nice. Im sure it will sell.

i never really liked the rear of the G37... too FLAT... the first gen G series was much better i must say, but then they ruined the rear with the latest one... and NOW they've made a convertible version of it...I'd take the 350Z over this. This just doesn't look right.
