While I do give VW an "A" for effort, the car is not that visually appealing to me. Americans will eat this s*** up. It will sell well, no question. However, the original 3.6L 4Motion Passat provided a more traditionally "Teutonic" experience (some call it "bland, unforgiving and austere"). To me, the swooping 4-door coupe styling draws un-needed attention to the awkward FWD proportions with that ungainly extended front overhang and short wheel-to-dash ratio. "Unto each his own" I guess...

whats with all the new car unveilings at pebble beach?? is this a usual thing? this should have been the regular new passat.

personally i think it looks like a passat that has been smudged... nd i dont find that too appealing, a totally different design would of been cool

I agree this should've been the new Passat. There is no reason to release it in addition to the current bland model. I see this slipped through the net with it's hideous chrome grill still in tact. The head of VW has since sacked the designer who introduced this tacky gimmick as he hates it.

No shame in that, this car is at least 40K cheaper than the lowest model CLS.

No I can't afford a CLS does that make me or others like me any less deserving of what I perceive to be a nice German Car in our budgets.

The MOST relevant concern for the Savvy U.S. consumer is Diesel availability!
When can we have the CC with a Diesel engine?
VW can beat MERCEDES to the market with an offering in this segment if they choose, the CLS Diesel is not yet available in North America...........
VW,MB,BMW and Audi....... Are you paying ATTENTION!

BMW has the 635, 335d coupe. And its a remarkable engine. why dont u amreicans buy those?

I find the interior and exterior quite attractive. My problem is that in the process of coming out with the CC, VW diminished the Sedan and Wagon to the VERY LOWLY Komfort packages. I was looking to buy a VR6 Wagon early next year but they won't be made. Restyle the wagon based on the CC and offer the VR6 package and then I'll reconsider VW. Otherwise, CC you later.
