The Volkswagen Passat CC will hit US dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2008 and prior to its launch the German automaker has announced that the model's pricing will start under $27,000. This value will of course increase somewhat once dealership premiums and other hidden fees are added, but it does come in a little lower than the sub $30,000 price that was expected. Volkswagen have already stated it expects the US to be the no.1 market for the Passat CC, around 60% of the yearly worldwide sales of around 300,000 units are expected to be sold here.
To kick off the launch, Volkswagen will also introduce a special "CC Gold Coast" edition which was unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this past weekend, it features a number of eye catching enhancements to tell it apart from the regular version.
“The CC Gold Coast builds upon the luxury sports coupe that debuted at the 2008 North American International Auto Show,” said Derek Jenkins, Chief Designer at Volkswagen’s Santa Monica, California Design Center. “We’ve added luxury and performance extras like tri-coat paint, high-end interior appointments, and ground affects that enhance the sportiness of our newest sedan.”
The rear end in particular can be differentiated with its large-surface dual taillights that produce an unmistakable visual image day and night, as well as additional ground effects. A set of 19 inch propeller style wheels help complete the model's look.
