Mazda MX-5/Miata Facelift Design Shapes Surface?
EU Trademark office strikes again
Earlier this week we were able to show you the designs of the next generation Mazda3 after they leaked out from the EU Trademark office when the Japanese automaker was trademarking their design. Now it appears the same office has struck again, what we have here are a new set of simple design drawings of the Mazda MX-5 (also know as Miata). Modifications from the current model seem to have been kept to a minimum, so this can only be treated as a facelift rather than an all-new model.
Looking at the front fascia we can see a redesign has been ordered, the headlights will remain as they are, but the grille and fog light sport simple modifications. There are no signs of Mazda trademarking the design of the rear so we can expect this area to remain the same although are likely to see changes under the hood.
The facelifted MX-5 is likely to be launched sometime next year.

Headlights appear to be less rounded (slightly sharper corners?)
