I think it looks great. I want to see what the back seats look like also.

but it still looks butt-ugly ... by the way Fritz , did the Vertu Mobile Phone inspired your centre console panel ? ? ? you forgot to stud it with diamonds , though .

I like the interior alot, gorgeous as you would expect from Porsche. As for the outside, you still can't say crap, the car is wearing Camoflage panels on key parts of its design. So what we see here isn't the true design, except for the overall shape maybe.

I don't think this good interior has enough flotation to prevent this model from sinking like a bag of hammers. The weight of it's awkward and antique exterior is just to massive to keep this thing above water in the marketplace. The 928 was originally designed in 1971 (in the USA being 35 years old traditionally qualifies a car to be an antique). In many ways the 928 looks more modern and much better than the Panamera.
Panamera, cayman, cayenne; who is naming Porsche models lately? The demand for an expensive psuedo-sedan Porsche with VW/Audi engine and mechanicals can't be that high, even if it wasn't a styling disaster.

That car is built to be expensive and kitch. So yes, it is a sad truth that this car have market-floating ability hence market for depersonalized choices is a reality.

You're right...The Boxster/Boxster Coupe (Caymen) looks exactly like a 911 and the Cayenne... oh wait... Hmmm...

I know you are trying to be sarcastic, but they do look alike, though not exactly 100% alike. More like 80-95% alike

wtf? Horrible choice of a word. Every idea posted on this website is instrumented to accomplish a goal, the goal being to convey that persons thoughts/feelings/ideas.

That Porsches looks all same it is not an idea but just right notification. Idea belongs to the Porsche and designed to be a market instrument for people who like to look all same despite the money but do not like uniforms.

I'd like to be able to judge the exterior right now but past experience has taught me that you first need to see it at least in pictures without any camo at all and second, you need to see it on the road several times before you can pass any judgement. I've found this to be true over and over again. It's impossible to really understand a design fully on even the first physical viewing.

Up to a point I agree with you, all though, the really great designs usually stand out quickly.
I think I understand this thing already. A 928 mated with a 911. Twenty years later their grown-up love child grew went slumming. This unfortunate one night stand with a Tourage (oops, I meant Cayenne, but who really wants to look that deep into DNA to differentiate) spawned a Panercayenner.

Once the cladding and fake body panels and lights are removed the Panamera will be revealed to be totally beautiful and make other four-door wanna-be sports cars - e.g. the Rapide and CLS - look clumsy.

i am still not really sure about the rear and the camouflage there, but the rest is beautiful. the console looks like it?s made for james bond, i wonder what all these buttons are for....
August 13, 2008 10:29 pm
...the screen display is huge..what size is it? ooh look at those a/c vent, it looks huge also, the clustered buttons lay out are interesting, anyway the exterior is still butt ugly..it looks like an estate..not a 4 door coupe
August 14, 2008 2:33 am
This is a car for Glamour....
maserati quatroporte is best in this class

All those people, talking bad about Porsche, saying the car is ugly, everybody was saying the same for the Cayenne, but now thanks the Cayenne Porsche is buying VW/Audi group.
I'm sure this car will be bullseye!! you'll see

I'm not sure about this car, even though the exterior has comouflage on it the basic shape can be made out and I have to say I think its anything but elegant. It looks like an avant/estate with red butt cheeks on it. I hope I'm wrong and it is very different in the end, I really do. The interior isn't too flattering either with the typical messy tubular instrument dials behind the steering wheel and cadillac like air vents on the centre console which is encrusted with buttons. My main concern however is the avant/estate like profile it seems to have which doesn't seem to fit with the ideology of a 4 door coupe. We will just have to wait and see.

Look how far the screen and the air-con form the driver
arent these audi buttons on the air-con ?
August 14, 2008 9:06 am
The inside looks great but the outside is hiddious i hope it would go back to the drawinboars even if it would mean changing the schedule for it. Im saying this as a huge porsche fan and i love the usual porsche looks but if they start selling the panamera as it is now ill have to reconsidure my favourite car brand. And dont say its ugly just cause the camo cause it was ugly even in the computer made photos
August 14, 2008 12:21 pm
"the rear is just hideous"...
...hope you guys know that this is just camouflague?
August 14, 2008 1:03 pm
We will see come 2009. It seems that its only wearing light camo but the rear shape is still ugly, comparing to the shape of the earlier mules, it hasn't changed so..
August 15, 2008 7:03 am
The rear looks really fake the closer i look at it. there are added plates all over the rear.
i am really looking forward what the back looks like when it gets revealed
