We already know just about every detail we need to know about the new BMW 7-Series ever since it was released in an extravagant ceremony in Moscow, but that doesn't mean we don't want to see more. Fortunately the Bavarian manufacturer has foreseen our desires a released a whole bunch of new videos showcasing the technological talents found inside the all new model.

The above video displays the talents of the following technologies:

  • Driving Dynamic System

  • Lane change and lane departure warning system

  • Active cruise control and front-to-rear collision warning system

  • Night vision with person recognition

  • Head-up and speed limit display

You can also watch an additional video below with Dirk Häcker. Director of Functional Integration talking about the various technologies including Integral Active Steering, Driving Dynamic Control and its effects and the integrated chassis management.

The car definitely looks much better without that God-aweful "Bangle Butt" design. Loads of new technology, possibly borrowed from Volvo (lane changer warning, collision warning), but definitely a nicer car.

I am starting to save up my shillings!

I trully think that Bangle is a great designer . Look at the X6 . Very beautiful and sexy car . Bangle gives BMW that sporty looks , and gives you the feeling of a young car .

To put it in another way . If Mercedes would have a Chris Bangle they would sell more cars

I actually think it is a good looking car... a definite improvement over the previous version. The new technology is amazing but at the same time, the idea of maintenance and repairs on this stuff after 5-10 years is frightening. This technology is great but it's making cars so complex. I'd still buy one though.

Well, the whole mercedes design team as well as the toyota design team have watered everything down visually to the point where I see absolutely any appeal in anything they make. But I guess you are right, I think the SLR looks nice, then again it wasn't designed by mercedes. As to toyota, they have had nice cars in the past but within the past decade not a single head turning car. Chrysler... well again mercedes level styling, minus the quality. That being said, different divisions of these major companies I do like, some dodges are visually awesome, and there are stellar Lexus's like the ISF.

Oh come on Joe, I know you can't turn down an AMG. I am not too big a fan of MB, but the AMG is a force even I bow down to.

Oh your plenty right, I would never turn down a AMG, I would just sell it and get something sporty.

@ Joe: like an M3? You know, the one criticised for not being sporty enough...

I like the looks of the M3, in my opinion I think it looks quite sporty, kind of like a pitbull kind of sporty.

I'm a long time die-hard BMW fan and all I have to say about this one is what were they thinking? I mean..it has some great features but the styling lacks the BMW quality that made the company what it is today.

You can thank Chris Bangle-Butt for that, and that Japanese (Takeguchi or whatever) guy that designed the horrid 3 series saloons. The 3 series coupes look beautiful, but the saloons are completely horrible.

If BMW gets rid of those two and brings back the German blood into their design team, watch BMW take off again. I am just waiting and hoping for the day that happens. At least the 1 series are a start in the right direction.

I replied too quickly.

This 7 series definitely looks a lot better than the one with the bangle-butt design.

personally I like the 3 series better than this. Even without all these technologies.

Saw a lightly disguised 7 the other day and it looked very nice.

I still "getting used to the design" ..so c'mon BMW pump it with technology, I don't know maybe that will put to sleep my aesthetic sense. I can't wait to see this ugly monster on the streets where we all will grow fond of the model just like the previous model.

Thank goodness the Bangle butt has gone from the new 7 ... that feature looked equally butt ugly on the 7-6-5 series ... that said, IMHO this new 7 suffers from an overtly "heavy" appearance and particularly the front with the over sized double kidney openings ... the high tech "toys" are great until they require maintenance.

Bangle's BMW designs are inspirational...

As I rightly pointed out in 2002 when inspecting a new E65 7-Series sitting forlornly (orphan-like)on the showroom floor amongst a sea of older generation BMW models at the dealership, all this car needed was similarly "Bangle-inspired" 3,5,6 & Z models to make "design sense". Since then it has happened!

The new 7-Series is an evolution of that E65 7. In other words, it is still "Bangle". God Bless him!!

nice to know the critics have all nicked off. =) if they make an M version of this car (even if its labelled 760LiS or something) it'll be insane..

Bangle wasn't directly responsible for this one, and it shows. It's just vanilla, but it sure is good!
