Mercedes E-Class Spy Photos Give Another Glimpse at Display Screen
Since last months E-Class wagon spy photos showing dual fog lamps and partially uncovered front fascia, these latest pictures show the E-Class covering back up with the same heavy camouflage as before. However, one shot shows the huge center display screen, most likely snagged from the S-Class, which is now located in the upper dash panel instead of the lower center console. Despite the new glimpse, this isn't the first time we have seen the angular hooded screen dash.
Just out of view is the new steering column mounted gear shift lever which no longer occupies the center console. Ironic, since BMW moved the gear shift lever from the steering column back down to the center console in the new 7-Series.
The 2010 E-Class which is expected to make its debut in Frankurt next year will offer a wide selection of engines, ranging from a 4 cylinder petrol engine with 184 hp up to an 544 hp V8 as well as diesels ranging from 136 hp 4 cylinder to a 354 hp V8. However, customers will have to wait for a hybrid version for another year. According to insiders, in 2010 the E-Class is going to be available as the E 300 Bluetech hybrid which will receive power from a 3.0 litre 224 hp V6 and a 15kW electric engine with an integrated start generator.

The side and rear view are going to be very good as well.
I'm not as fond of the interior, though. I don't like the shapes and the angles. It's like a retro version of the S-class interior, only without the enchant of a retro design, and without the classy and stylish look of the S-class.
I can't wait for the new E to come out...
And it's better than the iDrive.
