So they are using the name of a defunct Mazda? How about some originality? Shouldnt that be Ford's job? What a piece of junk.

Kinda but also remember years ago, years, there was a Lumina MPV...if they will use MPV it will be with another name i think.

I believe "MPV" here is not used as a model name, but as a vehicle type.
Its actual name hasn't been revealed yet, so for now people just call it a Chevrolet MPV or the Delta-based MPV.
MPV by the way means "Multi-Purpose Vehicle".
PS: A new "Mazda MPV" van exists in Japan, its also exported to Hong Kong as the Mazda 8.

PS: The term "MPV" or Multi-Purpose Vehicle is more commonly used in europe, this is basically a minivan.
Mazda just used it as a name for their minivan.

Yea, thanx AG4, i figured it meant that(MPV) and that it was a model type. I wasn't sure though cause i remember them dropping the actual name Lumina nameplate after a few years unless im mistaken.

Xanavi sorry to hear about your brother dude, as for this ugly beast I think they should do everyone a favour and sell it with the camo on. what a piece of GM JUNK, LOL they just lost 15.5 BILLION, I WOULD NOT TRUST THIS THING WITH MY LIFE!

Theres not much to be sorry about, he likes the truck itself and ive driven an even lower model than what he has. Its a good van because it drives like a truck sorta...but due to GMs cheap building it has a smaller engine than the FreeStar Ford but it burns virtually as much gas...so thats the main problem, the damn thirsty engine.

Ohhhh, obviously he has kids; thus he owns a van...thats a key peice of it lol.

I was under the impression GM was getting out of the minivan (the MPV term in the states) market because the segment had piqued and most folks don't want to be seen driving them anymore. I had read that the Traverse was the vehicle to take the place of GM's Uplander minvan. GM never has put forth a decent effort in this segment IMO. The uplander is ugly and the available engines has never compared favorably with any of the competition. Judging from the rear-view mirrors, this does look like a new vehicle. Maybe GM is going for a big improvement in design and quality like they did with the Malibu with this vehicle.
